Still does not help us make steps this summer, it means we have to make the transfer out of next summers budget. If loaning him means we can buy someone else then fair enough but it will be like we haven't bought anyone next summer despite the outlay.

Loan him, if it works out, buy him, if not get shot. Better than paying £35M or £20M and then lending them to other clubs (Carroll & Aqua)

I just think it leaves the club in a stalemate for a year.

Look at Spurs, they looked a very good attacking threat last season with Adebayor up top but they have now lost him they have to not only got to look to build on last season but also replace a player that was so important to them for twelve months!

If the loan works out and we sign the player then great but that eats into next summers budget without any further improvement upon the squad we've just had for a season. Plus, as someone as already pointed out, Real Madrid like to have release clauses built into their agreements so they can buy a player back if he turns out to be decent so we could have him and then lose him for a fraction of what he is worth too.

 

its an exciting prospect yes but i have said many times hes not needed.

if he does go city then of course **** him but he would remain one of the best players in the league.
