Keane said he deliberately set out to injure Haaland, but that tackle was ten times worse than the one Scholes made on Saturday. And that was the only time Keane said he tried to injure someone.

For what it's worth, I still don't think Scholes deliberately sets out to hurt people. If he did then:

    a) He would actually succeed once in a while. I don't think anyone has ever been properly injured by a Scholes tackle. Zabaletta got some nasty cuts, but he was fine to continue for the rest of the game, and that was one of Scholes' worst ever tackles.
    b) He would have worked out how to do it in a more subtle manner. Most players who deliberately set out to hurt other players try to do it in such a way that they at least have some form of plausible deniability. If you honestly think Scholes deliberately set out to make that tackle, then you are effectively saying that he sat in the dressing room before the game and said to himself "Right, I'm going to get sent off today. That's just what the team needs". Even Rooney isn't that stupid...

He shows no respect to City and unless he wises up I cannot see him at the City of Manchester Stadium much longer.

Gary Neville and Cristiano Ronaldo certainly come above Balotelli. <ok>

The fact that he's a knob. Which is what you asked.

I asked was Balotelli a knob and gave reasons. Reasons for Ronaldo being one?

I agree that he has issues and that they can cause us problems when he is playing but after the performance on Saturday we can only hope he has turned the corner, as for saying he shows no respect he did go to your end and kiss his badge.

Kissing a badge means SFA. How many players have done it and then left?

Mario Balotelli, I think his recent performance was an average one. I've always thought he had potential of playing outstanding football. But, one thing we all know that's let him down is his attitude. We're all aware of his age, but that doesn't give him the right to act like the way he has. Solution to this matter could be, Mancini retrieving power of the dressing room and confronting the players who the manager is.

Wait hold up did I just see someone legitimately ask why Ronaldo is a knob? I give you he is an exceptionally talented player but even the most hardcore of man united fans must realise he's a massive knob. The diving the play acting all gaining pathetic fouls and getting players booked or sent off ruining their teams or their countries (in the case of rooney) hopes, when he has the talent to do that without being a malicious little s***!

Except Rooney got sent off for fouling Carvalho, not Ronaldo.

Ah, I love the smell of plastic in the afternoon...

I don't think Balotelly is a nasty piece of work, just that he gets bored very easily. Have never heard about him assaulting anyone or doing anything that I would describe as 'nasty' anyway.

I'm not saying he wants to purposely injure players, but he definitely wants to hurt them so they are hesitant to get the ball. Occasionally he overdoes it and gets sent off but most of the time he gets away with painful but not serious challenges.

He did throw a dart at a youth player for fun. Not a particularly nice thing to do...

He very rarely gets away with it - it's not like he makes marginal challenges or goes for a bit of man and ball. Most of the times he gets booked they are such bad challenges that the ref has no choice but to blow up. If he was deliberately setting out to hurt people, I think he'd do it a bit more subtly, the same way that Vieira, Keane or Shearer used to do - win the ball but make sure you clatter the player as well. There's no point trying to hurt someone so they are hesitant to get the ball if you are also going to get yourself booked and so also have to be hesitant in future tackles.
