Well yeh we had fletcher, and hargreaves for a brief period in 08.

Scholes went through a bad patch remember a few years ago.

we still have the same bar hargreaves though.

 

Park's gone but been replace with Kagawawa (I'm sure someone will correct that )
Scholes and Giggs are proven quality but can only play bit parts nowadays.
Fletcher is struggling with illness and it is unknown when he will return
Carrick's not been the same player for a while
Anderson has not justified his price tag, not sure he will
Cleverley is a good player and, IMO, your best option

I'd say if you can get Carrick and Cleverley playing together with Giggs and Scholes supporting them when needed then that is the basis of a decent midfield. However, signing a top midfielder to sit in there along side one of those would be a big improvement IMO

 

As rivals which midfielders would you least want us to sign out of interest?

Yep, he would be absolutely perfect for Man Utd's midfield. Wouldn't like to see De Rossi join them either.

 

He would but I think they need a battler more than a creative spark. If they got Modric then they would have to get a DM to play alongside him. If they got a DM type, they wouldn't need to counter it because of the wingers and attackers they have.
