But he will turn 30 while hes with us so we would make an exception.

Is there a more overpaid player in the game? Citys 5th choice forward on more than 150k.

He is not good enough and horribly overpaid. As i said before we better take Samba & Rhoades and still save at least 30k.

Could you imagine we we got Samba and that 6ft 6" ukranian? No one would get past those 2.

Doesn't make any sense, we'd have to remove the East and West paddock to make the pitch wide enough....

Surely the owners know what they have available to invest.

World class or not, Adebayor's a hell of a presence up front for any club and he's a pretty regular and reliable goal-getter. As long as we get someone with those attributes, I doubt many of us would care much whether it's Adebayor or someone else.

Weight the contract with bonuses so he has to work and perform for his salary and go for it. The board should know what we can afford.

The most bizarre thing for me is looking at this board. Who would have thought in the not too distant past there would be a thread on a rangers forum debating adebayor joining us........ And then not just joining us but a number of people saying no thanks!!! How times have changed from the bargain basement!!

Spot on Brixton, can't say I'm his biggest fan but he's a nuisance up front & scores goals. Let's not lose sight of the fact that our owners are far from stupid, they know exactly what they can and can't spend. I'm absolutely certain that any business carried out in the transfer window is budgeted for.
On the other hand, this story could all be complete rubbish!

Surely there can be no truth in this. I would worry about the sustainability of the club's finances if this was to happen.

Shawcross would improve our defence but I wouldnt want us paying him 100k a week, would you?

It would be a terrible mistake signing the likes of Arshavin, Adebayor or Gallas.

Portsmouth fans thought it was great paying big names twice what they were worth....

You can't compare our board to Portsmouth........ it wasn't even their money they was spending, in the last year alone our board and chairman have shown what great business men they are. And they know what to spend and how to spend it.

I'm not saying pay him what he wants, that is clearly silly money. It's going to be an ongoing issue for city that they can't offload players as they don't want a wage cut. By his nature though if we could get something near a sensible wage that the board felt we could afford then I'd like it weighted with bonuses as that is obviously what drives him. I agree I wouldn't be paying silly money for him as there are better longer term prospects out there we could invest in.

My main point was I can't believe we're actually even having this discussion!!

He wants 150k a week plus the 4m transfer fee. Nothing sensible can be worked out as city won't pay him a penny, they'd let him rot in the reserves.

I know it's highly unlikely but could you imagine Ade and Cisse up top next year?

That forward line just screams goals! And even without rose tinted specs, that would be one of the best front lines in the division outside the top few.

 Plus a free swim card for the Janet Adegoke pool and lunch once a week in the Springbok. Mad if he turns us down.

I thought this was knocked on the head a couple of weeks ago, smells like old news to me.

I would welcome Adebayor's goals but not his arrogant baggage that travels with him. Not sure TF would want to pay the wages.

I don’t want him as we need to show some restraint and the pay gaps in the squad could e a big negative but you can’t knock a player who’s come from nothing for wanting cash. He does loads for charity and he uses big chunks of the cash he earns to fund projects like building a school, water facilities for towns and building two hospitals.

Now I’m sure he wastes money on personal things as well like jewellery etc but so what he has earnt it. Never quite sure why people like Flyer feel they can say what is the limit on money someone should earn when they themelves are better off than literally billions of other people in this world.
