I am not talking about being effective but being quality as well as attitude etc. Neville wasn't a WC defender but played consistently very well over many seasons, was a leader on the pitch and never caused controversy off it. Balotelli as Swarbs mentioned has no respect and courts controversy far more than he does the ball in the penalty area. He hasn't shown much of his so called talent and considering his attitude to his manager and employers will probably never.
Balotelli - Talent youngster but he is a knob! Throwing a wobbly every other game! TBH he is at the wrong club ... he needs someone to kick him in touch like a Fergy , Wenger, Jose
Balotelly is extremely talented, he is strong, reasonable quick, occasionally has great technique and his shooting can be exceptional. What he lacks is in professionalism, work ethic, consistency and tactical know-how; these traits are extremely common in someone his age, he just has them to a larger degree. Mourinho couldn't sort his head out and I cannot see RM doing it, as for all the talent he is supposed to have we only see it occasionally, I would rather have a player that runs himself into the ground than a lazy git who only turns it on when he feels like it.
Don't hide behind Scholes not being able to tackle, he had no intention of getting the ball. I think even Roy Keane says he means to hurt people. Its a myth that he just can't tackle.

Love it. Kamran continually slags off Hernandez despite his goal scoring record and his impact in England but then goes and defends Balotelli! Hernandez is a goal scorer, plays off the shoulder of the last man, has great pace and a good touch to set himself up for goal scoring opportunities. He behaves himself and has proven to be a bargain signing. Can we say the same of Balotelli? No.

Crouch couldn't hold up a lolly stick, doesn't tackle and is basically a one trick pony. Did you watch the game on Saturday ?
