I know all the SPL chairmen were begging their fans to buy tickets, Lawwell's being the most cringing, but did they sell out for their opening games of the seaon?
I would imagine they were all sold out and had to turn people away, surely that could have been the only outcome?
http://www.football.co.uk/aberdeen/aberdeen_fc_-_sell_out_saturday_rss3268688.shtml Oh, and it's an Aberdeen thing - not a celtic thing <extrahelpingsoffailformedro>
I think that was kinda the idea - not only was there no "rangers" but there was no celtic either. For what it's worth, I doubt we'll see sellouts across the SPL but no doubt the crowds'll be a bit higher than normal. Which is a good thing, I'm sure we'd all agree, for the health of the scottish game. I'd be genuinely amazed if Hibs sold out, their fans aren't exactly overly enthused with the current team and manager ...
Well I genuinely didn't know, that's why I asked. So it's this Saturday? Superb, I'll make sure not to tune in.
Did Aberdeen win at the weekend? I genuinely don't know and I can't be ****ed looking it up, but I would imagine the crowd will be directionally proportional to last weekend's result to a certain extent. In fact, I have just remembered, Celtic beat them and they play Ross County this weekend, so that is the second biggest derby in the SPL(after the Dundee one) so maybe it will be a sellout. As some fenian said yesterday, after seeing the Rangers attendence, it will never last, people will get bored.
..or Aberdeen vs Dundee United Aberdeen vs Dundee Aberdeen vs ICT It's not even Aberdeen's biggest derby.
I think Ibrox will have more than 8000 empty seats on a regular basis this season. And next. And the one after that. Then again, if you can't even beat Peterhead why should people splash their hard earned cash?
