The combination of Skrtel and Coates scares the **** out of me. Skrtel is not an organiser and Coates is still learning. I also think selling Agger to City is crazy a combination of Kompany and Agger would be brilliant. I don't want that.
I really wish I could find reasons to argue with this...but as usual Nobby you are spot on I still think if Agger does go we should sign another young centre half but if that's as cover for Coates I'd be more than happy (or sign a right back to cover Johnson and try Kelly at CB).
The lack of signings and talk of who might go is not my biggest concern in regards to BR. It's the fact that he seems to be all loved up with Carra that scares the **** outta me.

Add to the list if I missed anyone...Kuyt, Maxi, Bellers and Aquilani have all (pretty much) left. Rodgers said in his press con that he is looking to replace those who have departed...does he mean all? Borini in...that replaces Kuyt. We should expect 3 more players in and maybe additional signings for any other sales. Are we really looking to sell to buy if BR is working hard behind the scenes as we speak?
I just hope we get replacements in and quality ones. I already said that with that Agger money you can go and get Ramirez and Lass Diarra that would immediattely bolster the midfield. Tello on loan, and you should still have about 5-7 mil for a defender which you can get a good defender for that price ( Kjaer maybe? Douglas? Williams if really desperate?)
You are right and everybody knows that every player, whether it be Agger, Suarez, Gerrard has a price but stating the obvious (as Rogers has now on several occasions, regarding several players) achieves nothing but speculation. I don't believe that Rogers has any intention on letting Agger leave (Just as Hodgson had no intention of selling Torres to Utd) but in the eyes of the media, if you give them any in they will use it (much like Lloyd thought he had a chance when he was told he had a one in a million chance of dating Mary - Dumb & Dumber - which sums up most 'journalists').
I think Rodgers said that he still needs to replace the players that have already gone, which implies that he wants to add a couple more on top of those signings. I mentioned previously; I can see the financial logic behind selling him. But we saw the same logic when we sold Alonso and Torres and neither were adequately replaced and now look at us. We have already lost Maxi, Aurelio and Kuyt - 3 players, who didn't play a great deal last season, were highly experienced members of the squad. We run the risk of getting rid of the experience and just replacing them with untried youngsters. I think we run the risk of changing too much too quickly. Agger is a key player for us and forms a solid spine through the team. Whilst we're going through this transition period, I think the spine should be untouched i.e. Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas and Suarez.
All the creditable centre back rumours are Bilbao's Amorebieta. They've no manager right now and he'd cost under £10M.
Would be good and if we keep pepe that is someone who we can help him right away, Coates, Suarez should help as well with the Spanish speaking and bedding in.
I think if Rodgers manages to apply his philosophy in quickly, our possession play should protect the defence a bit and they can gain confidence from that. The amount of clean sheets Swansea got last season with their inexperienced defence was pretty amazing. Just think what we could do if we did manage to hold on to Agger.
Our defence was still extremely solid last season - I think only a 2-3 teams had conceded less than us. To achieve this during our worst season in history and without Lucas protecting them is a pretty big achievement, and for this reason alone, BR should not even think about disrupting the defence.
Brendan needs to drop the arogance..He might be a realist, but that doesnt mean he has to increase speculation, which hurts an already worried group of fans. My missus might put a bit of weight on and i know it to be the case, doesnt mean i tell her that......There is a difference between what you think and what you say and he has to learn this..... I hate pricks who come out with, 'I say it as it is.' as these people have no regard for others feelings and usually cause problems with their words. Agger may have a price, but BR should just say not for sale and see what happens. I thoiught his plan was to take us back to the top, selling the likes of Agger makes us weaker and Premiership rivals stronger....Cant see how that works!
No relationship would last after the first date if we said everything that was on our minds. Christ, even with with Charlize Theron I'd **** it up!
Problem is, if he says we're not selling Agger and then we end up do, fans will call him a liar. Handling the media is extremely difficult task and could be a job on its own. Say the wrong word, or in the wrong context, or use the wrong tone and the entire quote/interview can be manipulated.
