It's sauce.... Besides, if we get £22M for him, I'd bit their hand off, let him sit on their treatment table next season.
I would not sell him, selling your best players is not really the way forward. Everyone talks as if we are absolutely broke. We do not need to sell to buy. If we get rid of Agger then Carra becomes the first choice centre half, and it sends out a terrible message. Brendan needs to ask Agger if he wants to stay or go, if he wants out, the City can pay £25M, if he wants to stay, then he is not for sale. So far we have got rid of Kuyt, Maxi and it looks like Bellamy will go and maybe Carroll, the only player in has been Borini. This is not really a great statement of intent. But the window is open for three more weeks, and all the big deals normally happen on the last few days, so we will wait and see.
Centre halves peak in there late twenties / early thirties, Agger and Skrtel have both spent the last few years developing an understanding. To break that up as they are both about to enter ther peak makes no sense. Especially considering Rodgers likes to play possession football and Agger is so calm and composed on the ball. For me he should be the last player sold. Glen Johnson, Adam, Carroll, Downing, Bellamy maybe. Not Agger, sure he has had injury problems, but you can only hope the medical teams and fitness experts are working to correct this.
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...L25-million-for-defender-daniel-agger?cc=5901 At least we are playing some hard ball and if that 25 can be used to improve the squad then good but I would like to keep him.
