Oh well, i think Sahin was probably unnecessary anyway. N'Koulou is a decent defeder, but i'm not sure about versatile, every time i've seen him play he's been at CB. I don't rate Van de Wiel, i think RB is okay, it's LB we could upgrade. Gibbs is never going to play 10 straight games, and Santos is sometimes painful to watch.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/aug/07/arsenal-arsene-wenger-nuri-sahin The Guardian also saying the same thing. We will only go for Sahin if we sell Song. Cazorla plus Sahin without us selling someone first was always too good to be true.
Basically that's the same story the Guardian was running this morning with just a couple of lines changed
It's all gone quiet on the Bendtner front. Really shocked that we do not have clubs lining up to take one of the best forwards in the world off our hands.

I don't think we are trying to negotiate a permanent deal, at the moment anyway. Reports are that we want a one year deal with an option to buy at the end of it. I'm not surprised there's not been much movement on this at the moment because the dealings with shambles at Malaga must have taken up all of our time. I reckon we'll get some confirmation either way about Sahin towards the weekend. p.s. made me laugh, the sentence where it said that Sahin had already twice rejected offers from Spurs - good lad
I think what Zlatan was referring to was the Option to Buy. Arsenal will want a set fee, Madrid won't, or if they do, they'll want it to be ridiculously high. He was bought for <9m by Madrid, so Arsenal will want a buy clause of ~15m max if he performs & integrates very well & wants to stay. I'd imagine Madrid will want one that's more along 20-25m to ensure they get very good money for him. I realise this is pure speculation on my part, but would not surprise me in the least. Wenger won't want to pay to develop a player for a rival (a loan fee will be paid), then send him back to them. They want a fee that Arsenal would reasonably be prepared to pay in a years time if they wanted to keep him.
I will be seriously gutted if we sold Robin to Man Utd tbh. It's unacceptable to weaken ourselves and strengthen one of our rivals just because our captain has behaved like an ungrateful spoilt brat. I say we should politely inform Robin that he's going nowhere this summer and suggest to him that he should think long and hard about what Wenger and the club have done for him and commit himself to either signing another contract or at the very least to giving his all for Arsenal this season and along with the squad and the new signings push for trophies. Letting Robin go would add yet more credence to our reputation as a weak selling club, making a stand now might just send a message to some other players that they can't just bugger off when they feel like it. £20million means less to me than trophies and it means considerably less to me than the credibility of our great club.
