  2. I've got a Hyundai...... :emoticon-0107-sweat

On a serious note, if some of these overpaid footballers showed half the dedication of our cyclists, rowers and athletes, then they might actually achieve something!!

Watching Jess, Greg and Mo win Gold this evening was very, very special!!

I think part of the new rules of this under 21's league should include a mandatory pen shoot out for every draw, as the rest of the world take such flagerent pens, and we have ramsey for first choice!

Whilst everyone is watching Brazil, is it worth us bringing in a couple of the Japanese and/or Korean players? They've shown a hell of a lot of workrate and willingness, plus can keep hold of the ball.

I don't know if Gio has gone the way of the winds, but if not I can't believe he isn't worth a try. I'm thinking of a no-striker formation with Gylfi, Gio and VDV in it. It may not work, but I wouldn't want to have to play against it.

Also, I can't believe Ramsey was first choice pen taker. I was thinking, I guess he's not complete crap, then. And then he takes two in a row that are both complete crap.

Did he take the first and then miss the second, or was it the other way round ?? The reason I ask, is that there is a growing trend in the game, for managers to not allow a player to take the second penalty if he has scored from the first (which I think Ramsey did). MInd you, that logic would never have occurred to dinosaur Pearce.

Sturridge's "effort" was one of the lamest I've ever seen. Stuttering run up can only be useful by making the goalie commit, then going the other way. But everyone, his mother and most definitely the keeper could see that the way Sturridge was approaching the ball, he could only go right...

My trivia question is, when's the last time an English or British keeper saved a penalty? Even blind squirrels should occasionally come up with an acorn.

Thanks PNP, I hadn't seen them. You're right, a couple of piss poor penalties. Dodgy keeping on their goal as well.

Yeah, Butland really should've done better with that, SC.
Didn't do a lot wrong for the rest of the tournament though, shootout excepted, bar some rather dubious kicking at times.
He'll probably be a top class keeper in a season or two, if he makes the right move this summer, which might be not to move at all.

Why can defenders and goalkeepers go in high with stoods showing and not get penalised..i.e concede a pen....yet anywhere else on the pitch and it is a free kick?

come on S.Korea.....i find the Brazilians to be a tad arrogant tonight..plus as much as i love Sandro..theres a few faces in that team that really rile me.

Come on, a Brazil/Mexico final is the best result for us - we'll be guaranteed a gold medalist in the squad!

Looks like it'll be Sandro vs Gio in the final. Finally, a little relevance to this corporate jolly!
