You have to take your hat off to the man, anyone who can take the heat off Neil Lennon must be doing a fantastic job.

So I decided to have a look at what Peter Lawell is all about, what he is supposed to have done, how he did it and more importantly how he managed to get so many high powered men in Scottish football to act as his cat's paw.

It all started four years ago when he turned whistleblower and grassed up Rangers to HMRC regarding Dual Contracts and EBT's and followed this up by tricking Craig Whyte into not paying HMRC their dues, the scoundrel then dobbed in Craig Whyte too.

He got every SPL club to manipulate the results of their respective fan polls so that it would seem that no one wanted The Rangers in the top flight (Or he personally convinced the fans himself). Either way it was an amazing achievement. He has also managed to convince every SFL club (bar one or two) to deny "The Rangers" direct entry into SFL1. WHile he was at it he bullied Rangers into signing away their TV rights after calling in his favours from the bosses at SKY.

His Machiavellian scheming did not begin or end there.

Two years ago he set his daughter to act as a "sleeper" within Harper MacLeod's offices, knowing full well he would require some dirt on the firm's partners if he was to gain the required leverage when he needed it. It paid off big time, because seemingly no one has noticed that she was there for about a month.

From what I have read so far, the people who he has managed to bend to his will (like some latter day Charles Manson), include:
    The BBC
    Lloyds Bank
    Harper MacLeod Solicitors
    Campbell Ogilvie
    Neil Doncaster
    Stewart Regan
    Ralph Topping
    Stephen Thompson
    Duncan Fraser
    Michael Johnston

Rasputin himself would have admired Lawell, so sneaky and at the same time convincing to a fault is he that It would not surprise me if his middle name was "Nefarious".

It was his idea to give them a transfer ban after convincing their players to leave for free.

Yep, I heard that too, I also heard he personally wants to rip the stars off every Rangers shirt in the JJB superstore - so drunk with power has he become.

    He's out of control.

His movements/travel arrangements on 9/11 are still unclear.

The ironic thing here in Dev's little satire is that you lot are currently all ranting on about David Murray on CCS's thread! A few of my Celtic supporting friends actually don't like Lowell they blame his lack of spending a few years back as costing them the league.

Obviously Murray and Lowell both must have done something right at some point to ellicit the reaction they do from opposition fans.

It was good that Charlie Manson got a mention though Russ!

My missus showed me that video the other day - terrifying, man.

The Rangers are still in Div3 and already someone has mentioned Celtic not spending enough <doh>

Your mates (and all the folk I argued with at the time) were wrong.

Ask them now - I'll bet they now think that the balance sheet trophy is second only to Ol' big ears and are ready to admit that we were right not to offer Keane a contract.

We were right not to offer Bellamy a contract. We were right not to spunk money on average players coming up from England.

The "ranting" on the David Murray thread is because the guy killed your club but some Bears can't "bear" to question him on it - a couple of lines of rhetoric and some people have forgiven him - it's insane.

Lawell is yet to make a club bust - I believe Murray has managed three so far.

Give him time Murray was there for decades:smiley:

It wasn't Keane or Bellamy it was round the time when everyone thought you lot were going to buy Fletcher from Hibs.

Agree with you on the video it's kind of what I imagine Superhooper to look like<whistle>

To be honest I have been critical of Lawell in the past, especially his failure to deal (as promised) with the "Bloostained Poppy" banner ****wits.

But some people are endowing him with superpowers he does not have.

<laugh> I hope he doesn't do that lunge - I'm willing to bet that interviewer never wore those pants again.

Fletcher, McFadden, "a Premiership striker", a decent centre half - it was said when we passed up all of those (and when Keane and Bellamy were only loaned) that Lawwell "lacked ambition" and "was only spending enough to keep up with Rangers when he should be burying them" - both of these phrases were used on BBC 606 quite a lot from both Rangers and Celtic fans (and United fans and ER).

All of whom were wrong <ok>

We need to live by our means - we need to sell an Aiden McGeady every few years or we won't be able to afford our scouting network which has brought us Kayal, Izzaguirre, Wanyama, Matthews etc.

If we get a world class (or anything close to it) player, we're going to have to sell him - them's the breaks and people have to get used to it.

I'll go so far as to say that people would be used to it if it wasn't for one man.

Who is in charge of the scouting at Celtic? Is it John Park the guy that discovered all the Hibs guys a few years back?

    I believe so, yes.

I don't think we've actually bought that many subsequently from Hibs (although you'd think we would) Broon, Stokes, Caldwell and Riordan seems a lot but I think Rangers took about the same amount from Hibs over that period (Whittaker, Thomson, Murray).

I've no idea who is in charge of South American (I think we've got team partnerships there) or Israeli players.

Whatever is going down, we're getting good young players for very little outlay - it's the model we need to follow.

It's the model every Scottish club has to follow.

I have been hoping Rangers would do that for years. The problem is the fans expectations when it comes to Rangers and Celtic the youngsters never really get a fair crack of the whip. For me one of the few positives out of all the last six months is that the youngsters will get a chance at Ibrox now. The fact that there is lessened competition in the SPL will maybe allow your lot to do something similar.

There is room for us all in the cuddly wuddly Celtic Family<ok>

ALSO: I remain critical for not signing Fletcher when we had the chance and I expect I will be critical again......but he is sending folk into convulsions at the moment for some **** he didn't do which is very funny.

Even having the temerity to spawn a child who did work experience is enough to drive folk around the twist.

Mose, I don't expect to see any photos of you, after all there were no cameras when you were at your prime.
Still living in the past believing you have a god given right to post on one of the elite league's clubs board,
when you really should be annoying Brechin City fan's with humorless and nonsensical rants. Who are
    they playing tonight?

Dev actually put up a picture of me on his "Minty's statement" thread Hoopy!

Tonight Rangers are playing East Fife at Ibrox. I'm looking forward to it and will be going along to watch it. Did you go on Saturday?

As the thrust of Dev's thread here was about Rangers fans supposed overeaction to Celtic's chairman I as a Rangers fan and member of the site felt it reasonable to reply. The OP didn't seem to have any problem with that and replied to me. Unfortunately there don't seem to be any Brechin fans on the boards for me to "annoy". In fact there don't seem to be many fans of any other Scottish clubs on these boards at all bar a few Aberdeen ones.

As always it's been a pleasure although I prefer when you're Espania.

Are you suggesting that Moses has no right to comment on one of my threads, especially when it is one of the very few which has actually descended into a reasoanble, polite debate about purely football matters?

You should wind your neck in and stop insulting people for no good cause. If you want to talk only to Celtic fans then there are plenty of sites who can cater for you. This is not one of them, it never has been and hopefully it never will be.
