"If Channel 9's concentrating on Australian success, what are they showing, the Test Card?"

    LOL.

And a silver in windsurfing... Nick Dempsey.

One more gold, and Great Britain hit their second highest Gold count ever... not likely to beat the first, 56 in London 1908!

Anyone else think Idowu is a bit of a twat?, why didn't he just admit that he was injured. Insted of taking someone who isn't injured place.

Because he would never get the chance to compete at a home Olympics again. He would spend his life thinking 'what if?'.

Put yourself in his position. You're 33, so it's your last olympics anyway (most likely). You've never won olympic gold, but at your best you know you stand a chance. The Olympics just happens to be in your home town. You've spent the last four years working harder than any of us can imagine for this. I wouldn't pull out unless I physically couldn't walk. Plus i'm not sure there is another British triple jumper who meets the qualifying standard anyway...

I think it's just the way he went about trying to mask his injury that annoyed me.

Idowu probably felt he could pull off a decent performance despite not being 100 percent. He came across well in his interview.

Mrs olddellboy and I have just spent an enjoyable 2 hours watching the brownlee brothers win gold and bronze in the triathlon in Hyde park. Absolutely incredible, and now relaxing in the park watching the big screen. Absolutely awesome.

No idea what was going on in that, to me it looked like somebody trying to ride a horse that was lame, but glad we got another gold!

Apparently it takes 7 years to train a horse to do that. But what incentive do you give a horse? Dogs like treats but also like to please their owner. What do you offer a horse in return for dancing?

Another year of life before getting turned into Spam?

I also have no idea how the riders make the horses do that, so I will give my stock answer. Witchcraft.

A cousin of mine has a couple of horses, and rides Western style. I think he would probably say it is treating the horse right and loving it. He would also suggest that to get the best out of a horse one should never ask it to do anything it doesn't want to do. What you'd have to do is convince the horse that it wants to do it. Horses are generally very obliging. Hopefully, I've given you a decent answer without bothering to ask him. :)

Apparently, it's all to do with giving the horse information through your arse. No, I'm not joking either. ;)

BTW, Horses can reach a fair old age. 30 years is not uncommon.
