"..more likely to leave..." Perhaps we should start a poll on how many and who are most likely............ Really can't see Smiffy coming back - now that MM has plundered all he can from us directly, he seems to be going after our ex-players now, so I suspect Smiffy may join H in the Welsh revolution.
Maybe we should have expected this, but with moneys coming in over the past 12 months you have to wonder where it has all gone. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9853816.Watford_still_coming_to_terms_with__massive_debt_/
agreeing with this. I would guess at Forsyth, sadly, coz i think he could be good, and maybe Yeates, though Yeates has been used a fair amount. Could be Deeney too?
Squad numbers have been announced http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/120807-squad-numbers-296194.aspx Troy Deeney no. 9 so looks like he will keep his job? Or maybe we are still waiting to see what new forwards we can get in before making a decision, meaning TD is just a placeholder at the moment (same with CI and no. 10?). Very large squad at the moment, 35 numbers allocated!
Personally I wouldn't read too much into that - we still hold his registration & maybe Zola wants the opportunity to assess him before a decision is made. From a business point of view, maybe discarding a £350K asset doesn't make sense to the Pozzos.
Iwelumo has the No.10 shirt, and apparently he is free to leave... I guess most have just kept last years, while filling in a few holes with others
Dont forget that we have to field a reserve side this season and there are at least 5 in that squad will prob spend the season in the reserves plus some academy players. thus the 35 man squad isnt massive .
I seem to recollect reading Zola's thoughts on the squad size - something along the lines of 30 is too large and some would be moving on - either on the official site or in the Wobby, can't remember which.
In the light of his comments I wonder what team will play tonight? http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9860035.Zola_asks_fans_for_patience_as_he_looks_to_excite/
Tonight's team looks really quite odd. WatfordFC XI v Gillingham: Bond; Hodson, Bennett, Thompson, Tumwa; Jenkins, Forsyth, Smith; Mingoia, Iwelumo, Vydra
Matej Vydra heads #WatfordFC in front after 11 mins. Mingoia switched the ball to Forsyth and his cross picked out the striker Vydra scores his second in four mins as a 50-50 challenge sees the ball rebound off the striker and over the keeper. #WatfordFC 2-0 up
