Following on from the woefully apostrophised Forum Idea's [sic] thread, here's a place for you to ask those burning what the ****, why the ****, who the ****, how the **** and when the **** questions. My request: Can we please have anchor tags added to BBcode? If I'm going to move +/â into the off-topic sub-forum then I would like (nay, need) to be able to reference elements within the OP. It's not included in the list of tags activated for this forum. Also, is there any way you can give us the power to change our own thread titles? Ta.
I'm sorry but I don't have time to wade through all the moderator responses to this request so someone on GC has directed me to someone called 'EDGE'. It is my sincerest hope that he is an actual forum admin who can actually help me. In the meantime, another thought has occurred to me, more in the 'Forum Ideas' vein than the 'Feature Requests' category... Does anyone have any thoughts about converting the +/âgame to an EPL arena? Not that I could be bothered running it (the F1 version is difficult enough and I neither watch nor have any knowledge about football) but I'd imagine it might be quite popular. Would you have the 'â' player from the opposing team of the '+' player or from any other match? What add-ons would you invent? How would the '+' and 'â' players score points?
I can ask, but I'm afraid all those requests are way above what I can do so all I can do is ask sorry.
On the theme of what the ****, Can I ask wtf are you talking about genji!? A lot of us aren't tecchies so could you explain the features you are talking about and how/if they could improve how a user, erm, uses not 606?
I may be speaking out of turn, ASC; but I think Genji is reaching out (desperately?) for anyone who is sufficiently technically minded and can provide him with the tools he requires in order to do something (more) for the whole not606 website. It seems clear that efforts have been made behind the scenes but I suppose by making it public for us all to see, there is the possibility that his appeals will reach the right pair of ears.- - -o0o- - - P.S. to site administrators: If what I've just said is wrong or irrelevant, please PM me and remove this post if you feel it for the best. Thanks. ©
What? Have I been hoodwinked? asc/cosi - yes. I was under the impression that it's a standard feature but the fact that not606 doesn't have it indicates that either it's not or Mick (or whoever) has disabled it. Anchoring allows you to mark sections of your post to create subsections that can be referenced in a similar way to subsections on (e.g.) Wikipedia. If I'm going to move +/– into the off-topic forum then the OP is going to be quite big - bigger than the Sweepstakes OP - so I'd like to create a mini-index at the top to allow people to skip directly to, say, the current selections table or the points system without having to scroll. Similarly, the results post will be quite complex, too. BLS - I'd be grateful for that. I know mods can't add new tags but I would think your request is worth more than mine.
Absolutely hoodwinked. Very naive trusting those GC boys. Maltese Mick is the site admin, he's the one you need.
Cheers, boss. Knowing how long these things take, though, I doubt it'll be set up in time for the Belgian GP. I've got the first post ready to go but I'm not sure if it's too early or if three weeks would give potential new players the time to get to rips with the swathes of information and rules.
Can anyone explain this please? There was a response posted briefly that said if I click in the space to the right of the thread title on the forum thread list page I can change the name. It worked shortly after posting the +/– thread yesterday so I added a deadline, which I'll want to replace later on with the winner's name. Strangely it also allowed me to edit the name of the Olympics thread but I didn't try to submit it so I don't know if it would have said 'access denied' or something. Now it won't let me change the name of my thread or anyone else's - clicking to the right of the thread name doesn't work. Is it time-limited? Why would it let me edit someone else's thread?
For me to do it I double click where it says "views" on the main page. I'm not sure if its time related for none mods, I could ask but since I'm still waiting to hear back about the other requests I'm not sure how much good it would do
No need but thanks - it's time-limited. Can you please just delete the bit in brackets from the title for me? I'll do without. Not sure why it appeared to let me edit someone else's thread though (as I said, I didn't try to commit the change). I'll try to remember to test it next time I post a new thread.
Great, thanks. In the meantime, is there any chance of you lodging a request to have the following setting configured to match the time we're allowed to edit our own posts, i.e. indefinite (probably = 0): Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Message Posting and Editing Options -> Time Limit on Editing of Thread Title I appreciate it's not in your gift to change it and if it gets ignored then so be it.
