SA9- Thats the first refreshing comment on the whole Allen saga for a while!! <cheers>

Then it looks like he might be persueded to stay here if the club bump his money up and give him a new contract like they did with Bodde after the derby episode.

Question for you SA9 . How does his Girlfriend feel about a move away at the moment? and do you think it will have any bearing on where he ends up ?

Classy- Top post and agree, im hoping laudrup can get into Joe Allen and tell him he wants him to be part of the future of SCFC, i see a midfield of michu,de guzman and allen as a perfect combination, Joe just edging out Britton but britts to come on after 70mins to take the sting out of teams by keeping the ball.

I cant honestly think of anybody woh would wish Joe Allen anything but good luck if he moved away, i get the feeling he may stay here if Laudrup shows he wants him here, throw in a pay rise and new contract and we will all be happy jacks and galvanized for the new season :)

Dai, your post from the "Has Anyone Else Heard That Laudrup Has Quit" thread, post 19

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/160231-Has-anyone-else-heard-that-Laudrup-has-quit

    1) Someone has told you Laudrup is walking out on Monday.
    2) That person was completely wrong.
    3) Just suggesting that whoever told you that is an unreliable source. Perhaps it's someone you know well and trust but they got it wrong.

I never said that you directly think he would walk on Monday as I chose the words carefully, but reading your post SOMEONE told YOU.

Don't want to start an argument. For most people language is fairly precise and maybe for you it isn't, i don't know, but you can't deny what you typed. <ok>

To be honest Norway, I get the impression that she's happy for him to do what he feels right. I was hoping that she'd be dead against him moving with the baby on the way, but she's not as against it as I would have thought. It's down to him at the end of the day though and as you said, maybe a new Swans deal could persuade him to extend his contact being as he is a true Jack with plenty of years ahead of him to move on to bigger things.

    aswan
I was wrong about which thread Dai's comment was on if that's what you're relating to, it was actually on the 'Ash Williams, Scotty' thread. This is it...

If it was written then its not worth the paper its written on just like i
have said right at the beginning, players have rights and nothing and i
mean nothing can stop that...Joe has proved that, he wanted to go
and he has already agreed terms and jenkins cant do a thing about
it.....as for ash well he knows there has been a bid for him while in the
USA and if he thinks it is a money changing move then he will
go....sinclair is different as no big club has come in for him but even he
would not sign and still have not signed yet....these next two weeks
are going to be very nerve biting as this is the time when the big clubs
come a hunting...I can see vorm next if reports that man utd are
interested in him....Mr laudrup has plenty of work to do and i hope
    jenkins plays ball with him.....

Sorry but if people want for what ever reason fan the flames of doubt and then be proven to be wrong then accept the piss take (is it that painful) , some posters fall out on here because of less and the amount of ****e recently seems to have taken this board in a down ward direction . Like I said before if you want to post rumours then create a thread purely aimed at the gullible imo

    SA9,

In a sea of rumours and scandal your postings stand out above the doom and gloom. Top posts both of them

If Joe wants to go you can't blame him. Big club and financially set for life. I hope he does stay but if not I will be the first to applaud him on his return to the Liberty.

I think in amongst everything Joe's feelings have been forgotten about and it will be up to him ultimately.

Cheers Dill, but obviously I'm not looking at false hope, I'm just saying that nothing is sorted or close to being sorted yet, and the poor sod in the middle of it all is bearly more than a kid with a massive, tough decision to make, and some seem to think he's already made it just because the papers seem to think rogers just has to snap his fingers.
I hope Allen stays at least another season to help us through a season of uncertainty, and I hope that despite his youth, he's seen enough at Swansea over the last few years to realise that rogers isn't all that, and that he can slot in with our new manager just as he did when rogers arrived. Leaving now could be a gamble as rogers job isn't a certainty and he could stand to learn a lot more under Laudrup

I'm old enough to remember Laudrup playing, a genuine football genius. If he's 10% the manager he was a player we'll be more than ok.

He hasn't agreed anything Dai, that's absolute bollocks. He hasn't spoken to anyone yet and doesn't even know what he wants himself yet. I don't know who your source is, but I've been open about who mine is. You just stay friends working at the Liberty. that could be the toilet cleaner for all we know...and probably is

Why? Because you think he has? This is totally different than the rogers scenario because that was what the club were saying say the time -probably to try and push the siggy deal through. Allen hasn't agreed anything with anyone. He doesn't even know what he wants to do himself

Well if he's still unsure of his future he obviously hasn't agreed terms. Why would he be a fool not to go? He's only 22 with plenty of time for a big move. Some would stay he'd be a fool to follow rogers around so early in his career. He could well better his career playing under one of the best midfielders ever to play the game.
Moving to Liverpool now just because it's Liverpool and just because it's rogers in charge isn't necessarily a good career move, and he's bright enough to realise that, hence his indecision

This is when the spreading of completely unfounded rumours as "fact" is damaging. It's just a bit of fun when someone says "Look I really don't know if this is true or not but...."

Quoting "mates down the Liberty" is something I always take with a massive pinch of salt, particularly when accompanied by "You don't know a quarter of what I know" and "What do you know, son?" and other similar condescending comments. But if someone says their Mrs has had lunch with Joe Allen's Mrs I'll sit up and take notice. - particularly if it's come from someone who has some credibility here.

I've said all along that I'd be surprised if Allen has already agreed terms and SA9 has confirmed that so rumours recently put out as 'fact' to the contrary are just plain bollocks.

Look, Allen may well go and if he does, fair enough. We all know our back-stabbing former manager wants him and only a fool would think otherwise. But there is a tendency here to read a press report or a completely unfounded Internet rumour then either put it out as 'fact' or more usually imply it's fact by bigging themselves up and/or their so-called contacts, many of whom I expect to to be completely non-existent, or at best, completely unreliable.

Obviously he may well go, and the odds are probably well in favour of him going, but my point is this. How the hell can anyone say it's a done deal and he's agreed terms when he doesn't even know what he's doing himself?

Or, Joe may decide to stay, learn from a world class player and if his game picks up an extra level then one of the really big boys may come knocking and for more money too. Both Manchester clubs for example fit this category and would be more attractive than Liverpool. At 22 time is on his side.

Now that would be the perfect scenario for us, Joe and Wales in my opinion. He may even be attracted abroad in a year our two. If he's got any faith in his own ability, he'll know that this isn't the only chance he's ever going to have.
If rogers was an established Liverpool manager it would be different, but there's every chance he won't be there long himself, where would that leave Joe?
Give it at least another season, then see what offers are on the table. A Welsh international playing at a world class club is good for me
