QPR Reserves host Leyton Orient at Harlington this afternoon in a behind-closed-doors friendly fixture. Tommy Smith, Rob Hulse and Jay Bothroyd are all expected to start the match while a host of trialists will also be on show in the team which is being taken by Marc Bircham. QPR Squad (excluding trialists): Aaron Lennox, Bradley Simmonds, Mo Sharif, Taylor Parmenter, Jamie Sendles-White, Tommy Smith, Rob Hulse, Jay Bothroyd, Angelo Balanta, Tommaso Trani, Troy Hewitt, Tom Hitchcock, Jake Downes Looking at this he is not in the squad so maybe he has gone????????
I hope he hasnt been called up to the 1st team squad! Whats happened to Young? Theres been no mention of him at all, has he been abducted by aliens?
I know DJ really well he is a great player when his head is screwed on but most off the time that i have witnessed he lets outside life distract him, if he had knuckled down when younger there is no doubt he would have been a England regular that's for sure. he had unbelievable talent when we played together at primary and secondary school and even when we was at qpr up to the age of 14 but again he mixed with the wrong crowd and threw it all away.
Sounds like virtually every one of our youth products, hangers on leech off them and football becomes secondary. Thats why Ive always said our youth coaching shouldnt just teach football but they should prepare the kids for whats going to happen, giving them a couple of grand a week at 17 and leaving them to it is a recipe for disaster. I really hope our new academy does this.
Was in the team against Hampton and Richmond on Saturday, played the first half and scored two goals, looked lively too.
yeah he did but unfortunately he knows his career lies else where, personally i would keep him as i know him well and if a big if he can keep his head screwed on and work hard he can easily do a job for us, but i just feel coming back to west London brings to many temptations for him, like the old wrong friends and night clubs.
Why is everyone negative about DJ? To be fair to the lad it was only injury that let him down and my view is we didn't see enough of him to form an opinion. I personally would keep him over Zamora.
DJ was about to come into the side just as he got injured. I had a feeling the time was right for him and that he was going to be good but he never made it due to that injury so tough luck I guess.
