Alright gents, and ladys. The season edges ever closer and so does the decission on who should get the captains armband. Who get's your vote for QPR captain 2012/13? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT!: This vote is about who YOU want to be our next captain, NOT who you think Sparky will elect. QPR manager Mark Hughes is close to naming a new captain. Hughes has been considering a number of candidates to succeed Joey Barton, with the likes of Clint Hill, Anton Ferdinand and Ji-sung Park all wearing the armband so far during pre-season. The R’s boss plans to make an announcement when his squad return from a visit to Germany, where they will play two matches. Hughes said: “I keep moving it around and will continue to do that for the next two games. “I’ve got a mind on who will eventually have it. A lot of the guys are making good claims for it and it’s good we’ve got leadership in the group.” http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-boss-close-to7-deciding-new12-captain?
If he's thinking of Ryan Nelson as a first teamer then it has to be him. If he is just a squad player then I am at a loss because I don't think we have anyone else who is captain material...
Clint Hill would be my choice provided he's a regular starter. After him I'd go with Mackie but again is he going to be a regular? Of the definite starters I suppose the only one I can think of would be Rob Green. I wouldn't like Ferdinand to get it. The whole circus with him last season has left a sour taste in my mouth.
Sorry, the poll wasn't finished when posting I know we've been through this a couple of times before, but it's edging closer now and I thought it was time to put it down to a vote with you fine people. Please back your conviction with a vote. The vote will be open for 17 days, the day of the big kick off. Joey is not in there as he's not a possibility and there was no room for David 'Junior Hoilett, sorry.
That is pretty much the way I see it too, wavelength my friend Both Hill and Mackie will play and start a lot more games than the majority thinks, don't have more than my gut to back that up with. But it's a big gut I tell you so I trust it. Think it will be Hill for me, though I've not put it down in a vote yet. And Mackie, I'm convinced MH sees a lot of himself in Mackattack and just loves what he brings to the table.
What about if new signings come in and we want to change our minds to them? Would rather have Nelson as CB than Hill so can't see him as captain. Mackies got a lot of heart, but he's not a captain for me. A captain really has to be a player who's the first name on the team sheet every week, and the only two I think could come into that category are Green or Cisse. So for me it has to be Green...
No prob mate If you like, you can wait and vote right up to the Swansea game. That will give us 17 days to sign the "illustrial captain", and if nothing has happened by then the "Not yet signed" option will still be valid.
Adel Taarabt to be a captain. If he can copy that he could be ready for being one of premier league top players
Is the fact that despite all the cash spent we still do not have a true leader emerging a somewhat worrying sign? Think at times the lack of true leadership on the pitch was one of the serious issues within the team. Even at Wycombe last night there appeared to be squabbles breaking out all over the pitch. We need a true leader to bring everyone together and get the best from the team.
I think it will be out of Park, Nelson and Ferdinand. I think he might go Park just beacuse he leads by example.
I've gone for Nelson - solid player with as much experience at the top flight as anyone. I'm also a believer that central players (especially centre backs) should get the job.
It is too early for me. I'd go for Clint no doubt if he will play regularly, but if we bring in 2 new CB's, as I hope, he may not be a regular.
It'll most likely be Park, simply because he'll get way more games than Clint. Now CLUB Captain - that could be a different thing...
