Lincolngills (who always seems to be in the know) on GillsConnect has said that Callum Davies is impressing MA, Danny Jackman out of favour, and Adam Birchall will be sent out on loan to regain match fitness. It doesn't surprise me regarding Birch, because as I've posted before, in the pre season games he's featured in. to me he looks tentative so maybe needs to build up his confidence at a lower level. Maybe going back to Dover for a month would help?

Don't think sending him to Dover would be worthwhile, we need him to get league games rather than non-league ones. Someone in the League (Barnet maybe?) will be willing to take him on and play him for a month or so. In regards to Danny Jackman, I don't think Allen is really able to drop him, player of the year last season, hardly gives him motive to do so!

Danny Jackman is one of our better players so cant see this myself and i dont see the point in sending Birchall out on loan either!! Its a new season everyone has a clean slate so show the manager you want a place in the team.

We will probably see tonight .Neither Jackman or Birchall started on Saturday and you would have thought Birchall at least would have started if he needs match time.

    Jackman out of favour?

I cannot even begin to take that comment seriously.

If the post is to be believe Birchall would be going out onloan to regain match fitness rather than technically improve. As a result the point of the loan would simply be to get minutes played and therefore the standard of football played would be irrelevent. So going to Dover would be as good as going anywhere. In the past the fitness levels would be increased inthe reserves but since we no longer have that option he has to be sent elsewhere

I don't see much logic in the statements being made, Birchall has impressed Allen thus far and he has had a full pre-season under his belt, if he isn't completely fit, he soon will be after a few appearances from the bench. As for Jackman, he was our best player last season and I expect him more of the same from him this year, where is the logic in us selling any midfielders let alone arguably our best one!

Without a doubt, Jackman will be in the starting eleven against Bradford City!

I think Jackman is not there because Allen knows he wants him in the team, he doesn't need to see him playing.

I am not sure what to think of what he is doing with Jackman, I did think at first he is not in his plans but you don't know however if he isn't in his plans I believe Jackman will work to be in the team as he had this problem was Hessenthaler, started the season transfer listed however worked his way into the team. I may be wrong but I think he wants to give Dack a go in the first team, if that is the case I would then play Jackman at left back and drop Martin then that would be problem solved. With Callum I am not surprised by that, I think we may go with Essam and Davies at the back which I think could grow as a pairing and be brilliant, they would just get better and better and that is why he is playing them tonight, I have a feeling that the four of the five we are playing at the back tonight will be the ones who start the season.
Now we get to Birchall well I would not want to loan him out but if it helps him with his fitness then it can't be bad, now we have signed Burton I understand it more.
