    and obviously I meant on "loan" to Birmingham. He may be travelling the waterways for all I know at this point.

    Slightly off topic but I read yesterday Villa's wages last year were 29mil more than ours!! Nuts.

    That would've been from a season or two ago but yeah, they were even paying more than us when we qualified for the CL. Lerner trying to make MoN lower the wage bill before letting him spend was supposed to be a big part of why MoN left. With Young, Downing, Heskey and Collins all gone I don't think they'll have such a high figure next season.

    Villa are in a similar situation to the one we were in 5-6 years ago. A team which on paper looked like a 5-10th place potential but they are less than the sum of their parts and paying over the odds for players struggling to hit their peak.

    Wouldn't surprise me either, they're clearly bringing it down though. McLeish was supposed to bring stability and thriftyness whilst they lowered their costs. Right idea, just a shame he's a **** manager who could've very easily got them relegated.
