I think England in general is a racist country. By that, I mean that we make such a big issue out of every incident and highlight to such a degree that it is indirect racism itself. Skin colour is just another characteristic, just as hair colour, weight, eye colour, height, etc is. Why make such a big deal about a racial comment but ignore other insults...? For better wording, see comments by John Barnes, he is able to explain this angle superbly and I have the time of day to listen to him on this subject, something I can't do with most because i get annoyed
Yes, this country is totally racist, every time Suarez is booed, you are witnessing racism in my eyes. Cue reply: He is being booed because he is racist you ****wit.
Suarez doesn't get booed because the country is racist, he gets booed because the country is full of thick gullible ****s...
I guess Suarez reputation for the handball and the ear biting do him no favors and he does dive a bit. The Racism thing was the final nail in his coffin. I do feel quite sorry for him though, constantly booed and labelled a racist, what do you think his views are on people in this country.
Hmmm. Not been, nor ever have been convinced that Suarez is 'innocent'. Think all the evidence points to the fact that he used the word negro sarcastically after he himself had been racially/nationalistically insulted in response to Evra threatening to hit him if he touched him again. That said, it was criminally one-sided and one day law students will write Phd's citing how NOT to use Goulding's methods to conduct quasi-legal, employment investigations. And all people hereafter charged, even Rio and terry, should be presumed innocent until proven guilty, unlike the assumption of guilt used in the Suarez case. And that's my lot on it for tonight.
I was under the impression the term used was Negrito. Which translates (loosely) as mate in Spanish, since Evra had just spoke in Spanish ""Concha de tu hermana"" it was not unatural for Suarez to reply with calm down mate. The images show Suarez patting evra on the head in a friendly way, and Evra pushing his hand away. I think it is a complete set up from Fergie, revenge on Dalglish for saying you will get more sense from my daughter, we all know Fergie is bitter as fook about LFC.
Mr Evra's evidence was that, in response to his question "Why did you kick me?", Mr Suárez replied "Porque tu eres negro". Mr Evra said that at the time Mr Suárez made that comment, he (Mr Evra) understood it to mean "Because you are a ******". He now says that he believes the words used by Mr Suárez mean "Because you are black". We shall consider further below Mr Evra's understanding of the Spanish word "negro". Mr Suárez said that he replied to Mr Evra's question "Why did you kick me?" by saying "que habia sido una falta normal", meaning "it was just a normal foul". He said he shrugged his shoulders and put his arms out in a gesture to say that there was nothing serious about it. At this point on the video footage Mr Suárez's face is obscured but he does appear to shrug his shoulders.
"By that, I mean that we make such a big issue out of every incident and highlight to such a degree that it is indirect racism itself. Skin colour is just another characteristic, just as hair colour, weight, eye colour, height, etc is. Why make such a big deal about a racial comment but ignore other insults...?" There's not much mileage in the humanist agenda, that's why. There's pompously outraged people of all races with vested interests and self-appointed sinecures in the 'anti-racist' movement (which is provably only selectively anti-racist and willingly blind to acts of racism within the and by the communities they decide need their advocacy) who are often so far up the aresholes of their own pathological crusades that they cannot/will not see the many contradictions in their own zealotry. Many hundreds of thousands of years ago when I was in the sixth form I was in something called the Socialist Workers Party. Thier overall objectives were motherhood and apple pie, as in the redistribution of wealth and so forth, but when it came to actual indivduals they couldn't/wouldn't cope with the idea that some working class people were/are just ****ing horrible. It had to be the fault of capitalism, or Thatcher (cow) or both. Their ideology was so black and white (no pun intended) that they were the other side of the coin to the capitalist ideologue zealots in the 80's government. The People's Front of fooking Judea. (And that really IS my last word tonight!)
Mr Suárez said that at no point did he use the word "negro" during the exchange with Mr Evra in the goalmouth. At the time of these exchanges, there were other players in the six-yard box. These included David De Gea, the Manchester United goalkeeper, Jonny Evans, the Manchester United defender who was marking Dirk Kuyt, and Mr Kuyt himself. Mr De Gea, who is Spanish, said that he did not hear any exchange between Mr Evra and Mr Suárez. It is clear that there was an exchange of some sort between Mr Evra and Mr Suárez. We found it unsurprising that Mr De Gea did not hear any exchange. He appears from the video footage to be focused on the corner and looking mainly in that direction. Mr Kuyt said that he could not hear what was being said by Mr Evra and Mr Suárez but it seemed clear to him that Mr Evra was trying to provoke Mr Suárez so he (Mr Kuyt) stepped between them and told Mr Evra to leave Mr Suárez alone. Suarez denied it, there was no evidence and he was found guilty. WTF?
Gotta love Baz, started this thread apologising to all and sundry, now back defending what he said. Top Man. Suarez is innocent. Evra and Rio, well, manc twats basically. Baz, you don't have to say sorry....
Cheers Gaf lad, I stand by everything I say about Suarez, and all my insults about United and there fans. (apart from Swarbs,UIR, Style, tunns and a few others who I think are alright) The appologies where directed at some of the LFC fans, I took a swing at a few because I was angry and wound up by some of the United clan. But cheers Gaf lad, means a lot.
http://tomkinstimes.com/2012/01/the-suarez-decision-lfc-grounds-for-appeal/#comments_wrap As previously mentioned in other posts, Suarez admitted to using the word negro later in the exchange, after they'd been spoken to by the referee (when Evra makes NO complaint to the referee of having been racially abused) when he pats Evra on the head and Evra replies with his Sudaca jeer. In fact, the FA panel concluded that Suarez replied with his first racial comment in reply to Evra's "Your sister's a whore, why did you ****ing kick me?" at the begining of the exchange, as Evra claimed - which is odd in that they also concluded (in order to protect Evra from any charges himself) that Suarez didn't hear it -so what was he responding to?- and that after being racially abused six times before being spoken to by the referee (a figure Evra eventually came up with after reviewing Suarez's statement with the FA) Evra makes no mention of this to Marriner at the time. Only when he's booked later does he mention negro/black to the ref and to Giggs. Yet he went into the ref's room with Ferguson after the game and they reported it as '******' five times, despite Evra provably knowing at this stage he's never been called that at all. DEFINITELY MY LAST WORD TONIGHT!
Mate, you're welcome. I totally agree with you, and I really respect your love for all things LFC. I take this **** all the time from my manc loving mates and it really pisses me off. Suarez is god as far as I'm concerned. Is he a ****in horrible little ****? Yes. Is he a top quality player? ****in Yes. That's all that matters to me. The more times he makes Evra look a fool with his play,(which in all honesty was what started all this) the better.
Pointless calling him a ******, should have just given the ****er a good kicking, the ban would have been about the same. Deffo my last comment
