Just watched the highlights great game. Shows just how much womens football has developed over the last few years.
It's tempting but I feel slightly awkward being (probably) the only person there not related to, or a friend of, one of the Portsmouth players. Unless...... I use that as an opportunity to become a friend of one of the Portsmouth players maybe, then my attendance would be slightly less awkward..... hmmmm Yeah! Return of the King, Spore, Neverwinter Nights 2, I'm used to a fair amount of disappointment!
From what I could figure out from that awful Japan performance, he was playing in a back 3 and he did okay. The other two defenders were pretty dreadful, which didn't help.
I was at the Mexico-Japan game last night. I'd hardly say Yoshida stood out to me as being potential PL class, but he was probably the only Japanese defender who wasn't utterly awful when in possession.
I'm not going to start a new thread for what is a ridiculous piece of news, but the full England team have moved one place up in the World rankings to 3rd, behind Spain and Germany, due to recent performances, not including the Olympics, which don't count in the stats. This means that at any given time, England should be capable of losing in a World semi-final. Ha, that's a joke. They have to get there first. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19177783
There's already a thread on it. And within it there is a concise explanation by me as to why it's not ridiculous. Well actually it's just copied and pasted from Reddit, but I'm taking the credit. (Hey, that rhymes).
OK, apologies Poet Joe. I'm sorry, I wouldn't be able to take the news seriously enough to start a new thread.
Er what's actually happening in that gif? There's been an amazing save from Hope Solo and Japan have gone close a couple of times (though also once came close to an own goal).
