Absolutely, hence me saying I'd want to see at least £30m for him Adam Johnson is valued around £10m to £15m so him and another £20m and I'd be happy
I think £30M is the right price. Allows us to improve, and they will be getting one of the best players in the world in a position they badly need to strengthen.
One of the best players when fit but unfortunately you only get twenty games a season from him. If he could stay fit then I'd be saying don't sell him for less than the £50m we got for Torres!
Well lets hope we start to get some new players in soon, been a slow summer so far. Still think we might see a few surprises. Think there will be lots of work going on behind the scenes to bring in new players. But perhaps that is just wishful thinking.
I hope you are right, he Ramirez rumours keep resurfacing but I can't see that one happening. I can't see myself getting overjoyed if the two incomings turn out to be Dempsey and Allen either. Nothing against either, just not convinced they are what we need.
Yea, I don't know anymore, will just leave it to Brenda and see what happens. I am optimistic for the season, what ever happens, but I was last season too, and the season before that, and the season before that..........
I never really get optimistic, only season I predicted us to do well was when we finished second under Rafa, even had a tenner on us prior to the season starting that year and I hardly ever part with my cash! I was confident before the following season too but by the time the summer window had shut that feeling had gone and I didn't think we would challenge, poor transfer dealings. I reckon we will finish fifth or sixth again this term. Man City to retain the title with Chelsea second and Man Utd third. Arsenal to get fourth with the spuds or us next. Newcastle will struggle with expectation, plus the other sides will know what to expect now. Would have seen it differently had they taken the gypo back
Yea, will go along with that, if United<gags> sign RVP and Moura<chokes> then they may have a chance of winning the league, Fergie will have them all pumped up. Jury is out on Rodgers, all we can do is wait and see and hope for the best. Think Arsenal might do really well, not sure about Chelsea, lots of new signigns to bed in and no Drogba, if they go out and sign someone like Cavani or Hulk, then maybe.
Looks like Rodgers likes to treat the cash as if it is his own *see the Siggy deal* So would not worry to much about that.
Out of the top six (ignoring Newcastle here), Man City are the most settled side, they could pay dividends! If Man Utd sign those two then it could be a very good season, however RVP is overdue an injury layoff and Brazilians always taken a season or two to settle over here so I don't see them making a massive difference. I have been impressed with the signing that both Arsenal and Chelsea have made although I don't see how Chelsea are going to fit everyone in. As with all transfers, it depends how players settle but since Chelsea have signed so many, one or two of them are bound to settle quickly. I see us and the spuds as very similar. Both have decent squads (their first XI is a little better) but both have a new manager and need to adapt. Both are two or three players short, both have signed a quality young player and both have decent youngsters coming through the ranks.
Yep, I'm not too worried over spending as Rodgers seems to dig his heels in and stands for what he believes in (queue the Swansea fans). The ruoured £15m for Allen concerns me though.
City will be very strong, no doubt about that. If I was a betting man, my cash would be on City for sure, and I say that without my anti-United hat on.
Waste of time, the bookies aren't giving anything away when it comes to Man City. Currently 6-5 with William Hill
