Nah... It happened to Houllier and it took years to sack him... Kenny was given a season despite us never scoring at home and drawing with teams we should beat. We're not Chelsea! damn you. Wouldn't worry about Rangel to Everton, they couldn't afford his train ticket.
Posted this on the conference today item, I saw Joe today with his misses and said to him , ''your going then joe?'', he smiled and tilted his head and I got the impression that he is off. Gutted if I'm right !
Joe has all but gone, did not train today only came to say his good byes, Mr Laudrup have said he wont stop anyone from going....erm that should read he cant stop anyone going just as i have said right from day one.....Now who will be the next and who will be joining....
think im too frightened to ask that Dilli.. well, frightened of the answer more like !! Im hoping he met gower on the street and he (gower) tilted his head a certain way
Not according to Mr Laudrup he didn't say his goodbyes http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/7968732/laudrup-plots-allen-talks?
ML has even said that the GB players will be training Wednesday and may be playing in Saturdays friendly.
Just watched the press conference on swans player and i must admit im really praying for him to do well..and im an athiest !! the guy spoke good old fashioned common sense, and had a good laugh about the twitter rumours as well! I have to say though that he pretty much made it obvious that monk and tate will not be starters, not exactly a shock i know but he did say these types of player are important to the fabric of the club, expect them to stay but be low on the pecking order. He also seemed quite definite on the fact that there are 2 players coming in this week, happy days and all is well in the world, really wanting Laudrup to do well and take us to another level...will take 17th this season though !
If his mind is made up that he`s going, he can go to training or whatever while waiting for the formalities to be completed. The point that Dai is forgetting is this release clause, we can stop players going if the offers don`t meet that criteria. If this damn clause states £15 million then that is the price and until that is fulfilled he should be staying. Huw needs to make this clear to everyone concerned & if he goes under this valuation, I along with some others I hope, will not be very happy with the club selling short the fans.
Monks and Tate will be great off the field assets for the Swans. They will be worth their weight in gold in and around the dressing room but as I'm sure we all know not on the field of play unless it's a cup game and to help some younger players through it.
The deal doesn't like it's anywhere near completed and the his value may rise MICHAEL LAUDRUP has told Liverpool to stop messing around in their pursuit of Joe Allen, saying it’s £15m or forget it. With the midfielder back from his Olympic exploits, manager Laudrup will this week sit down with Allen to discuss the 22-year-old’s future in the wake of Brendan Rodgers’ attempts to take him to Anfield. Former Swans boss Rodgers has already made a £12.5m offer for the playmaker and Laudrup insists he will respect the thoughts of the Wales youngster in the wake of the continued speculation over a proposed move. But with Swansea in no mood or financial need to sell one of their prized assets, Laudrup claimed Liverpool would still have to meet their £15m valuation of the player before any deal is considered. Laudrup actually suggested Allen could be worth more than that reported contract release figure, citing the fees paid by Liverpool for players last summer and stating the Swans ace “is on another level”. “Joe is worth a lot of money because he’s a good player and has shown he can play at the highest level,” said Laudrup. “The manager (Rodgers) knows him and knows if he wants to change the way Liverpool play he needs a player in the midfield like Joe Allen. “But he also knows he’s very, very expensive. We all saw they bought a couple of midfielders in the last few years for a lot of money – but with all due respect Joe is on a level above. “In my opinion, if one is worth £17m then Joe is worth more, perhaps £20m something. “I’m talking as a football man not as a chairman, but if the chairman asks my advice then I will tell him the same.” A £15m offer from Liverpool could take the decision out of Swansea’s hands and into the player’s with the fee believed to trigger a release clause inserted into the four-year deal he signed under Rodgers last summer. But Laudrup – whose side minus his Olympic stars entertain Blackpool in a pre-season friendly tonight (7pm) – ruled out any chance of a makeweight in a possible deal of that size, claiming he has no intention to take a Liverpool fringe player in part exchange. Laudrup made his assertion following the loan offer of midfielder Jonjo Shelvey in Liverpool’s bid. “We have good players here and they have good players – but I can’t see a player not in the starting XI at Liverpool being in the starting XI in our team,” said the former Barcelona and Real Madrid great. And after meeting Allen briefly for the first time yesterday following his return from the Olympics, Laudrup now wants the saga sorted one way or another as the start of the season looms into view. “Until now everything has been in the papers and it’s much more important to see what he wants and what he says on it all,” said Laudrup of Allen, the midfielder to return to training tomorrow alongside fellow Team GB players Scott Sinclair and Neil Taylor. “It is important for the club and the player to find out what he wants so we all know where we stand before the league starts. If he wants to stay, he stays. If he wants to go we’ll look at that. “But it’s better for everybody we know otherwise it will go on until the last day of the transfer window. “The decision of the player is very important. I can’t imagine that the club will say, ‘Joe, we’ve had an incredible offer and you have to go’. A lot of clubs do sell because it’s a lot of money and you can buy another player at around the same level for much less. “But I don’t think that’s the case here. He’s a local lad and important, so his opinion is the key to all this.” The former Getafe and Mallorca coach says he does not want the speculation to drag on much further to protect the player, but also so he can plan for the campaign opener against QPR on Saturday week. He admitted he would have to add another midfielder should Allen leave for Merseyside. Laudrup is currently “quite close” to landing one of two remaining transfer targets, believed to be a striker and a winger. And he added he has no intentions of losing the key men continually linked with moves away, Sinclair, Taylor and Ashley Williams the latest. Laudrup said: “There is always rumour – one day it’s Joe, one day it is Ashley, the next it’s Taylor or it’s Leon or Graham. “It’s normal you look at it as normal and it says we must be doing something good. “But you need a competitive team to play in the Premier League, so, of course, we will not sell all our best players because what is the point of being the richest club in the Championship?” Read More http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/football-news/2012/08/07/91466-31563571/?#ixzz22pwGhtVA
Nicely done Bonymaen. And nicely done Michael Laudrup. Clearing up the fears that we're becoming a selling club. Clearing up the situation with Allen (we all know a move is on the cards, but it's not there by a mile yet). And my favourite quote of all... “But you need a competitive team to play in the Premier League, so, of course, we will not sell all our best players because what is the point of being the richest club in the Championship?” Onwards and upwards. Onwards and upwards.
He got everything right for me. My favourite quote is; "We have good players here and they have good players - but I can't see a player not in the starting XI at Liverpool being in the starting XI in our team" Rodgers inadvertently disrespecting all those Swans players he will be trying to sign in the not too distant future
Laudrup is certainly making all the right noises. I'm loving this from the sky sports article too While Allen continues to be linked with Liverpool, Laudrup is still looking to strengthen his squad, and the Dane says he is closing in on two more additions, believed to be a striker and a winger. "One is quite close but the other one is more difficult," he said. "But I hope he will be an important player for us. He is playing at quite a big club so it's not that easy. They are both offensive players. One can defend as well. Who are we trying to get from a big club, and based on his comments about Liverpool fringe players not getting in our starting 11, it would have to be someone considerable
Big Club ... Got to be RVP ..... "Since he intimated to Vorm during the Euros that we are his favorite club HJ has been mortgaging the Morgan to bring him in. With Mancini backing down, Swansea are the only club pursuing the player. Wenger stated that although he would miss RVP's goals working with Lita and iron-man Tate plus a regular serving of Rossi's fish n chips was going to be hard to turn down. HJ may well close the deal before the end of the week and knows a tour around the beaches of the Gower and a chance to learn from legend Laudrup will finally convince RVP that the Swans are serious about becoming a club much bigger than Livepool .... In response Rogers has written an open letter to the Kop asking for a whip round for enough cash to annexe the Llandudno sea front in a frantic bid to offset the glamour of the Gower." See ... I can make **** up out of thin air too ... I could work for the Post.
