I would hate to see the back of Agger but the £20m+ could be used to really boost our midfield and attack. I really hope we don't see Carra at the back and we use either Coates, Kelly or Wisdom.
I think if we are offered £25m then I would take it think he is a brilliant defender but too injury prone and £25m could get us a couple players.
Didn't City buy Lescott for £20-£25mil from Everton? Agger is twice the player Lescott is. If City really do want him lets play hard ball and fleece them for as much as we can. £30mil at the minimum please and if you don't like it, hes under contract for 2 more years and has recently stated hes happy here and willing to sign a new contract. I've always thought (with the exception of Torres) we sell our players way too cheap when comparing other teams.
Agree, I think its this fans view we have as well "if they don't want to be here then sell them". Need to start putting our foot down and saying well tough it doesn't work for us right now. Do you really think they are gonna stop playing as well as they can when they have another club watching them like a hawk?
Sky Sports understands Cardiff City are in pole position to re-sign Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/7968296/Cardiff-close-on-Bellamy-deal Sad if true, hope we get another season out of Bellers(should never have let him go the first time)but if he does end going back 'home' good luck to the lad.
Re City, they don't need such fees now - CL football guaranteed, league winners, fantastic squad, good manager, new stadium, investment if needed...
Moses to Chelsea looks just about done, just don't see where he will fit. Think they will loan him back immediattely or something like that?
After looking at most of these rumours, one thing I can guarantee is that the squad will look very different next season. By the looks of things it looks like Agger could go but Liverpool are demanding £20 million, Bellamy is going Cardiff, Carroll, Downing and Joe Cole are all available. Skrtel's agent looking to move him out of Liverpool, although Skrtel not looking to move at the moment. Gaston Ramirez's agent advising him against moving to Liverpool. Joe Allen will be signing soon. Nothing as off Dempsey, as Liverpool aren't prepared to pay the £10 million asking price. And Liverpool have enquired about Ibrahim Affelay (Loan).
But my point was, if City wanted him we should do what every other tea does and bump up the value by £10mil knowing full well that they have the money to pay it. If they don't want to pay over the odds for him, then simple, we keep him and look to extend his contract (something he said he'd happily do a few months ago).
I'd say both. Clubs like Everton said 'why should we even let you talk to this player'. Now, everyone knows about City, and players will want to join them. This allows City to make their interest public and lower the transfer fee. Yeh I agree fully.
Why would it lower the transfer fee? We've all seen before that top clubs have always had to pay more because smaller clubs (and I use that term very losely) know they have money. We've been doing it for years, United always pay over the top (Ferdinand, Nani, Anderson, Rooney at the time was extortionate although you'd probably say is justified now), City are now starting to do it as were Chelsea. It's not like we are desperate for the money and are going bankrupt and need to sell so I'd love us to stick to our guns and tell them to cough up or go away.
