BBC Radio Lancashire reports that the Cod Army are set to sign the 29-year-old on loan. He is due to serve a 12-match ban but would return to action sooner at Town because they play more games early on. He would not be allowed to play for QPR before they had played 12 games this season - even if they recalled him after his ban had technically ended at Fleetwood. If the loan goes ahead, it means Barton could now return to action on 6 October or sooner, six weeks earlier than if he stayed at QPR. QPR deny holding discussions about a loan move to the League Two side. Read more at http://www.tribalfootball.com/artic...in-fleetwood-loan-3433031#g7I5qTMpxftBlqdT.99
I've got a feeling that when he is fit and without ban, QPR will use him again. Over the course of a long season there will be use for a player of his calibre at QPR, even with all the other talent there at the moment.
You may be right that he'll play with us again, but I hope we bring in a good, younger,CDM to replace him, and that Barton moves on to another Club permanent. Maybe if he does go on loan and does well, someone may want take a chance with him! I think as a player he's good enough, but I suspect he will cause more trouble off the field, and will get provoked and sent off again on it.
They cant stop us recalling and playing him after 12 games as theres is nothing in the rules against it.
If he does go it will be interesting to see how long the loan is for and when they recall him. He has not played or trained with this QPR squad at all. Fleetwood will keep him reasonably match fit (not Premiership match fit), and that is all. He will have to do a lot of work in training once back at QPR before he is allowed to join the big boys again. I have to agree with Northolt. I think we have seen the last of him. A very expensive mistake.
As much as I personally don't like him, he was really good when he put twitter away and concentrated. Yet he is a liability. To be sure, he doesn't deserve to play at top level for his attitude. But money speaks.
I noticed that too, hes an addict and his form did improve a lot then but he went back on it so thats more important to him than his employer paying him 80k a week.
What caliber is that? .41 Magnum perhaps so he can take out other players with less effort? There should be no place for Barton at QPR regardless.
Rumours are that he is signing for Fleetwood Mac having been told to Go your own way. Playing for QPR again ... In your Dreams? but Don't stop believing as you make loaning fun and you are never going back again
If we do loan him to Fleetwood it would be worth our while to let him stay past October 6th and let him get some game time to regain some match fitness. Would be better than 20mins here and there and maybe a reserve game.
Very good DT. But wasn't Don't Stop Believing' by Journey?' I really hope JB never plays for us again
he has to stay past oct 6th as he cannot play for us until WE PLAY 12 games, the idea of the loan is that he is back playing football sooner and is match fit to play for us if we need him for our 13th game.
I think it may well depend on Owen Hargreaves fitness and contribution. Cant see him getting back in the team against a fit and firing Hargreaves....
Another similar thread of Joey...... I think its a good thing he is training and playing with Fleetwood. He will be near match fit , when he comes back to LR. He will play again with us and thats a good thing simply because African Championship alone. Let's just imagine if Diakate, Traore and Taarabt are few weeks in Africa with Park and Faurlin possible injured in january, then wouldn't be nice to have old trusted Joey around....? Or maybe use Andrade instead?
