Maybe we could see two new strikers? One being a young lad who needs games e.g. Montano and another player like Aygemang who is mature and can come straight into the first team?
I know it's just rumours but there has been a little chat of Paul Hayes (possible in my mind) and Dave Kitson (nigh impossible in my mind). Hayes would be interesting, Kitson must be getting a reasonable amount of interest in championship.
http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/sport/2012/august/6/martin_allen.aspx? Unfortunate but hopefully we can push on. Anybody care to guess who the three are?
apparently three new signings all fell through on friday for one reason or another nice to see the hess & scally combination is working
To be honest, I know people will criticise me for this but the club transfer policy has seemed a bit ramshackle, like we seem to be just having a stab at a whole group of players rather than pinpointing specific players. Also in the article it Allen blamed one of the chief executives at a unnamed club for not chasing a transfer up, sorry? Surely Hess, Allen or Mr. Scally should be doing the chasing up like ringing the club everyday making sure it goes through, rather than leaving it in their hands which looks like what happened.
I will have a guess at who they are. Chris Zebroski who has left Bristol Rovers and joined Cheltenham Town. And Francois Zoko released by Carlisle United and signed by Notts County. Both Strikers. The other one Im going to guess at is Sam Sodje, who I suspect has a club lined up at a higher level.
Well I'm glad we're not getting zebroski, if he was one of them. I seem to remember him being a bit joey barton - didn't he break someone's jaw at a former club or something?
Looks as if we were going to pay a fee for the one the COE didn't sort out, because if he was a free only an agent would have been involved
http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonline/sport/2012/august/7/danny_kedwell.aspx Key quote in that is 'big name striker', KentOnline seem to be leaning towards us signing a name, possibly quite old then to make them affordable for us, who's an old striker (33+) who is still without a club who has played championship and possibly a little bit of premier league? Only ones I can think of are Aygemang and Iwelumo.
