Thought he deserved a Thread of his own Dickson Etuhu 2008 - 2012 please log in to view this image http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wlz5tO1F9JI Vid of Dickson taking one for the team (albeit Sunderland) right in gonads, courtesy of the 'helmet' obsessed Joey Barton http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/photos-and-videos/videos/feature-dickson-etuhu.html Vid of early years
I think you're probably right there, C58. You could never fault Dickson for effort, but he was a bit limited as a player. Under Hodgson's team of "misfits", we had a team greater than the sum of its parts. With Jol looking to create a more skilful team and with the relentless march of father time, Etuhu's time with us was over. You did great service for us, Dickson. Good luck for the future.
Definitely one of my favorite players. Passing wise, he couldn't hit the side of a barn if he were given a week to line it up, but he was a terror as a defensive midfielder. Him and John Pansil were both targets of my criticism in the past because of their performances, but I grew to love them both. I'll hate to see Dickson go.
Frustrating was my thoughts on Etuhu. I just think Dickson lacked the confidence to express himself more. I got frustrated with how many times he seemed to only pass the ball sideways. His job seemed to be get the ball off the opposition and pass it to Murphy. He rarely took shots at goal when in good positions. I presume Murphy has had some influence in taking him to Blackburn.
Good luck to him. Initially sceptical of him but grew to feel comfortable that as a defensive midfielder will do the job. Once watched a program about him and he took football late in his childhood, think around 15, which showed with the lack of technical ability. Some times thaws compensated with his athleticism. But as other say times have changed and 4-4-2 is not our formation... More Murphy is not there any more...
http://www.ventures-africa.com/2012/08/fenerbahce-move-joseph-yobo-thrilled/ Section on Etuhu; Meanwhile in a related development, Yoboâs compatriot and Super Eagles midfielder Dickson Etuhu has thanked English Premier League side Fulham FC after he left the London club to sign for championship side Blackburn Rovers. Etuhu signed a four year deal at Ewood Park for an undisclosed fee and took to twitter to express his gratitude to Fulham. âStart of a new chapter at Blackburn Rovers FC. Thanks to everyone at Fulham FC, Players, Staff, Management and Fans for a great 4 years. Looking forward to a new challenge and helping BRFC back into the PL,â he said. Etuhu was forced to leave Fulham after seeing his playing time reduced last season. He started just nine games in the 2011-12 season, none after February 4, and was a substitue for just 13 matches totaling just 26 percent of the overall league minutes.

No- I look through it occasionally but not massively taken with social media. Facebook is going to make the 2020 election one hell of a show. "And so.. Mr Dixon, you speak of lowering taxes.. why don't we take a look at this photo of you from the album "shagging around magaluf" where you appear to be lowering your trousers"
