I think your clutching at straws a little here, why would our chairman come out with a statement if it had no substance what so ever?
I don't know why they are slating the club and fans at they have no say in the matter at all but I understand the frustrations with Rodgers... And don't forget, it's easy for you to say just move on but the fact of the matter is we may very well be losing our best midfielder and defender to a man who promised he wouldn't come back for them. It will take a great deal of replacing in time for the new season if it goes ahead so moving on right now isn't really an option.

Seriously? I mean come on, how old are you? I am not saying there was no agreement, in fact I think there probably was some sort of agreement but to base your belief that rodgers is in the wrong because of that statement is very naive indeed.

Really? So youd actually believe that after selling Rodgers to Liverpool our chairman would go to the press and make up a clause that never existed knowing full well that Rodgers and Liverpool would no doubt hear it also? And I'm being naive?

As I said I believe some sort of agreement was probably made but there are ways to spin things to try and pressure people via the media.

    If it is a clause in a written contract;
A; what exactly does it say?
B; Do you think liverpool's lawyers would not be aware of it and warn of the consequences of breaching it?

All of this is still somewhat irrelevant until we have proof of Liverpool trying to buy Allen.

I was under the impression that you've already had a 12.5m bid rejected by us? And I think it was a gentleman's agreement. If so it was one that Rodgers chose to ignore, so you can see why so many swans fans would be pissed at him.

And thats the root of the problem, you swans are all having a hissy fit without knowing the facts.

PS Just to add that if the scenario is as bad as some people paint it, they brendan is well out of order but lets wait and see what comes out in the wash.

Lol by that I meant it has been reported you had but no official quotes from either party. Although we did release a statement saying you have expressed an interest which to most is probably enough reason to throw a hissy fit :D

The rule with signing Swansea players says that we can big for your players if they hand in a transfer request or another club bids first.

Spurs are linked with him. If this is a true link we are allowed to go for it.

Us and Spurs always want the same players so it must be true.

Correct. Which most are led to believe the reason Rodgers came out and said 'if any Swansea players are on the market then I want to be in that market' is because he was trying to get them to hand in a transfer request.
I understand you probably won't believe that and think that we are looking for things that aren't there, but if you try putting yourselves in our position then it is very difficult to see otherwise.

I forgot that we, the Liverpool fans, were directly responsible for any interest in Swansea players...

The reason you have difficulty seeing is because you are blinded by the media nonsense. Seriously, whenever you read or see anything in the media, question all of it.

I agree that a lot of what is said can be taken with a pinch of salt. But I'm talking mostly about the direct quotes. And Rodgers has directly said that he would like to be in the market for our players. Most of the time this would be fine as its not uncommon to go for your previous players, I just think a lot of people feel let down by him for breaking his word that he wouldn't go near them for 12 months. It almost seems as though he is trying to instigate moves from other clubs or even get the player themselves to request a move away.

I literally just told you. Openly stating he would like to be in the market for our players. Like I said, it's as if he's trying to instigate interest or moves. The media probably pushed him or asked him a direct question, I know how they can twist things... But it's all he had to say was we have an agreement not to sign Swansea players and leave it as that. Then if say spurs did bid for Allen then Liverpool could just match that bid. No harm done. But declaring interest and the whole general way he has gone about things has understandable pissed a lot of swans fans off.

But according to you thats not the agreement. Can you see what I mean now, until we know what the agreement is/was then we are just pissing in the wind.

If he's not directly breaking the agreement then what he's doing is very sly, devious and calculating. Either way you can't really blame us for feeling some emotion towards the matter. Like I said, we just expected better.

You are footy fans so of course you feel emotion at this time. You are all going through the stages of loss, at the moment you (and many others) are at the anger stage and are directing that anger towards Rodgers. So whilst your motives are understandable, it does not mean what you say is correct.
