Hampton & Richmond 0 QPR XI 4 Details Published on Sunday, 05 August 2012 14:01 Written by Rob Overfield Hits: 364 A QPR XI containing players Premier League experience in DJ Campbell, Jay Bothroyd and Tommy Smith were just too much for the Beavers in the first half, but after the stars were withdrawn in the second half, the Beavers acquitted themselves much better despite conceding further goals. Craig Ross was called into action early with a good save from a Bothroyd shot but on 20 minutes he was left helpless as Campbell was able to plant home a solid headerfrom close range after a Smith cross. 7 minutes later, the lead was doubled as Anson Cousins was deemed to have brought down Campbell, who showed the GB team how to take a penalty, leaving Ross for dead from 12 yds. The nearest the Beavers came to a chance in the first half was from a blocked header from Inman, which took an eternity to be scrambled clear by the Rangers defence after the ball pinballed around the 6 yard box. In the second half, the QPR coaching staff introduced some trialists, rumoured to be from Barcelona, but the Beavers then started to come back into the game; chances coming to Karle Carder, James Simmonds and JJ Bates before Hitchcock tapped from close range in a third goal for the Rangers after Rodney Chiweshe was unable to keep hold of a powerful shot. Further chances fell to Bates, Moone, Inman and Bray - none of which tested the QPR keeper - before Bradley Simmonds forced an agile save from Chiweshe with a long shot. Josh Huggins had a gilt-edged chance as time ran down, but his header didn't quite have enough direction to trouble the Rangers keeper. In the final seconds, one of the QPR trialists met a near post corner, deflecting the ball past a stranded Chiweshe to make it 4-0 to the Rangers. Messi was one i heard and the other two were Xavi and Iniesta ... Kiwi saw Fat Freddys Drop on Sat Night in Kentish Town they are from Wellington ... what a tight band ... do they play local there a lot?
Xavi is too old... and we have enough players in this position.... this is exactly the sort of signing we don't need. I'd take Messi on a pay as you play basis but he'd have to prove he could fit in with Rob Hulse.
