Saw a bit in bbc gossip column that lee Wallace will be dropped from national side and replaced by our very own Danny fox for next weeks Australia friendly.

Just goes to show how fickle some international managers are about the leagues players play in really.

    Well done Danny :)

Bbc quote it from daily mail/ record but link to there news site doesn't work :/

Fox should play more for Scotland, I'm surprised he's not called up as much as he is.

Fox is good enough to play for Scotland. Good luck to the lad.

Born in Somerset, but his career started up in Liverpool with Everton. Scottish family.

He sure is. Lee Wallace isn`t a bad player, and maybe even a better defender than Fox, but Fox is better when his team has the ball. Nice to see a Saint is a Scottish shirt - hasn`t happened for a while.

Telfer the last one? McCann maybe? Quashie didn't play until after he left us, right?

I thought I had successfully buried Neil McCann in the recesses of my mind, but the flash backs

Fox has a Scottish grandfather apparently. I think Scotland, unlike the Irish, are reticent about playing more distantly related Scots. It's a bit of a tainted policy, as it was something Bertie Vogts brought in during his disastrous tenure. So perhaps his selection has to be seen as more justified, rather than Levin being unduly focused on the PL

Can`t remember to be honest - I don`t think Telfer was capped when he was at Saints though.

Fox not really Scottish? Next you'll be telling me Dave Connolly isn't really Irish and Jonno Forte isn't really Barbudian.

Ha! Well, good luck to him, if I was a player and had family from an obscure country I would definitely try and get in the team.

Funniest national team player is Chris Birchall for Trinidad and Tobago. If I remember correctly, his (both English) grandparents gave birth to his mum while on holiday (or extended stay or something) in Port of Spain, the Trini capital. Chris was born himself in Stafford. It's just remarkable seeing him with the T&T team.

Anybody want to guess which one he is?

Colin Kazim-Richards' path from the English lower leagues to Turkish stardom has always stumped me. It's like one season he's at Sheffield United, not doing anything major, then all of a sudden he's at Fenerbache and playing regularly for Turkey...never quite made sense to me.

A quick re-read of his Wiki suggests he's now no longer at Fenerbache, and has been on trial at West Ham all pre-season....
