Today we played a behind closed doors friendly with Rochdale. Unfortunately the game only last 55 minutes due to a Rochdale play getting a serious injury. I do not know what happened or what the njury is but I wish him all the best. Our line up was interesting with a bit of experimentation. ------------------------Reina------------------------ ----Johnson------Kelly---------Agger-----Robinson---- ------------------------Lucas------------------------ ------------Shelvey--------------Adam--------------- -----Ecclestone----------------------Pacheco-------- ------------------------Carroll----------------------- When the match was called off we were 2-1 up with goals from Johnson and Ecclestone. This will have been great for several players match fitness.
Hopefully Ecclestone leaves on the Rochdale bus. Pity about the injury, I'm sure we'll hear more soon, or the players will tweet about it. Hope it's nothing too serious. Kelly at centre-back, Reina playing and Agger getting match fitness, not a bad idea.
Its possible that because it was behind closed doors they didnt have all the usual facilities and that it is an injury that wouldnt usually end a game. I dont know where they played.
I stated Adam was playing, you assumed something, not only do you seem to have the memory of a goldfish your gob seems to continue blubbing like one also ( metaphorically anyway).
You mentioned Adam because of the unfortunate injury to the Rochdale player,so you 'assumed' he had something to do with it.
Now now PMK you are assuming i assumed anything. Was a tongue in cheek comment i admit. At least you are up for a bit of banter, don`t know what`s up with Baz. By the way i hope the players from both teams are all OK.
"Physio Andy Thorpe explains the extent of Reece’s injury: “Reece fell awkwardly on his ankle during the game resulting in him dislocating his ankle and fracturing his tibula. He has also suffered soft tissue damage." That was taken from the Rochdale website. Looks like a painful one and probably out for quite a while. Shame, never nice when anyone gets a bad injury like that
If he went for an operations, you would expect it to be to pin the bone, which usually speeds recovery up a fair bit. With all the doohickeys and gadgets they have these days, the soft tissue damage could be fixed in 6 weeks. I bet he's back by October.
^this^ They even managed to save Nani's lnfected leg that was hanging on by a piece of skin in time for Utd's next game.
