Then there was that Swede in the Wrestling who threw his Bronze medal to the floor in protest of a judge's decision.
Because no one has attacked the ref before....
That's still considerably less than kicking a ref in the face, but look at the scandal it caused regardless!
I thought your example of "these games" was far too small a sample size so extended it to include the last games, as a matter of fairness. I cheated a little bit, never mind. Guess that's why I'll never be an Olympian (ignoring my total lack of athleticism)
You fellas have like 2 examples of Olympians losing it with judges. You can get 20 times that on any given saturday in the Premier League.
Gotta take into account a number of features though. For example kicking a ref in the face is worth about twenty million disagreements.

Face it, footballers behave appallingly on the pitch. Seriously, sometimes I'm embarrassed to be a football fan, the way they act.
Oh of course they do. Footballers behave appallingly, they cheat, attempt to deceive etc. But the issue is, some people see that, then see a couple of people like Jess Ennis who is a glorious sportswoman and assume all athletics/olympians are just as respectable. I shouldn't attempt to argue footballers are all squeaky clean, instead just dispel the myth that all Olympians are.
Sure, plenty of footballers are embarrassing cheats with questionable morals, and the proportion of pricks in the game is probably higher than in most sports. But there is one sport in which the proportion of pricks is approximately 100%. I am referring, of course, to boxing.
I won't even bother to check the validity of that comment, but it was ill considered and I have absolutely no doubt, wrong.
You're talking ****. He's an Olympian which means he's a well educated upstanding citizen. Not like a footballer.
Boxers are way better people than footballers. Look at the current boxers,Haye,Chisora, the Klitschko bros..etc are all really nice people.
