Problem is with bring in a DoF is that Rodgers took the job because Van Gaal was told no. Rodgers won't have the free he was given at the Swans, but FSG seem a bit foolish and he's more likely to get the sack than have people drafted in for help.

Rodgers will get time from the owners. Hopefully, if he ever needs help he will ask for it. But tbh I think he will be fine with things as they are.

A team 16 games into their season v a team still in pre-season. No matter how good/poor the opposition is, fitness is a major factor. Also take into account we are still learning a new style of play then we we were never going to be awesome.

We were also missing, Reina, Agger, Lucas, Bellamy, Suarez who would probably all be in our strongest 11 and Gerrard, Henderson, Johnson, Kelly, Downing had all only been back a week from the Euros.

I thought 1-0 away from home in Europe was a decent scoreline. Yes we didn't play well, but we learnt last year, playing pretty is no good if you don't stick the ball in the net.

All teams need to be able to play badly, or bellow their best, and still win. We did that.

Last season we played really good football but were not winning. That is embarrassing.

We just had our worst season in 52 years. Dont expect magic. No manager would have us flying in such little time. Especially with the Euro's and Olympics.

    What are you saying! :headbang:

EDIT: Also, the strongest links to a centre-back replacement involve Athletic Bilbao's Amorobieta, not Ashley Williams.

    No! Bad Liverpool! Bad!!
Nahh in fairness, to me Ash and vorm are the only two irreplaceable players in our team.
Rodgers was very replaceable as he inherited a team already on the rise, he just made some very good signings in Sinclair, caulker and borini. Allen is replaceable as although I do think he is a fantastic player for us he is still not quite the finished article, so although we would be missing out on his potential we can replace his ability immediately. Ash on the other hand would be devastating to our team. He is a real quality centre back who you would expect to see at a top 4 club. Replacing him would be borderline impossible.

What i am sayinkg by out of his depth is the following: we have taken a huge risk in getting rid of a manager who was doing ok ( inmho, having said that we should never have sacked rafa, he only had one poor year with a huge injury list ) and a manager who definately deserved an extra season. Swans fans, who have watched BRs team warned us that he only goes for players he knows, nothing really wrong with that but he does not have experience at the really highest level where we want to be . We have then been a little bit short (generalising) with the swans fans and tbf they only been trying to talk to us about a man they know a lot better than we do. I am not calling for BR out I just am a little bit worried in the direction we seem to be heading. That said I will stick with us and pray we get it right and that I am talking tripe :)

Also if he does start to bring others I will feel a lot more relaxed.

No one is saying they are completely wrong. Fair enough, 6 moths down the line we might be asking "where is the plan B?". But they're talking about it as if it is guaranteed. FFS even Guardiola was condemned for not having a plan B.

I am not as fussed about plan b as long as we be become very proficient with plan a but i worry when our best players all look (not def) like they could be heading out the door. Plus one of them a very good potential plan b. I also worry when Carra (legend that he HAS been, and will always be) is part of the first team plans as he, ,imho should not be unless as part of a sweeper system (to me he always the first to play the long ball so surprised BR wants him there, unless we are not able to replace him money wise).

I wouldn't so much say he didn't have a plan b, it's more of the stubbornness to stick to playing it along the back and keeping possession even though we were 1-0 down at home. He even stated in numerous interviews after the matches that no matter how the match was going he would never change the style. It frustrated us a little bit because teams towards the end of the season (Newcastle, norwich and everton) were just coming down here, sitting back to let us have the ball in the middle of the park then countering when we were committing players forward with our short passing. Sometimes if things aren't going your way you just need to be direct, but he never was... And by never I literally mean never.
Im not bitter at all and thank Rodgers for where he got us (although my goodwill has all but disappeared after he broke his word and came back for our players) but im just trying to offer a little information about the man and how he goes about things tactically on the pitch.

See as an LFC fan i am disappointed that BR has chosen to go back on his word, if he knew he was going to go back why bother agreeing in the first place, if indeed there was an agreement. Tbf tho swans should stick to their guns and refuse all money offered by LFC if they too are that bothered about the principle. So i guess it eight of one and four of the other :)

I would say the same that we should just flat out refuse any offer (heart over head) but because Allen has a 15m release clause we unfortunately have no say in the matter.

Yes you would as there was an agreement. Even if we meet the release clause, the clause in Rodgers' contract supercedes that that one I would have thought. Swansea only have to sell players if they want to - if they really are that adamant then just refuse every offer we throw at them.

It all depends on whether it was a written contract or a gentleman's agreement. I obviously hope its the first but would be very disappointed if he were to break either - or attempt to.

We don't know anything about BR for sure yet. No point condemning him before a ball is kicked in earnest.

First of all you need to be a gentleman and to have a bit of honour about you.
Sadly BR joined LFC a place where all principles become secondary and the whole club show backing to persons punished of serious offences.

Ze maybe a ramble but true anyhow.

From a fan of a club steeped in disgusting ****.

Manager sacked for shagging the club trainer's wife
Manager claiming he had the wild ****es as an excuse for speeding and putting lives in danger
Club major shareholder/owner caught spying on women using a public toilet
    Player banging his brothers wife
Player hiring old women for sex
Player deliberately avoiding a drugs test
    Player(allegedly)re-tweeting a racist comment

    <whistle>
