Cant wait to find out what our 25 man squad and starting 11 is going to be, there are some many interesting little scenarios and possibilities at the moment. One is the pre-season form of SWP; a player so many of you on here have written off and written some pretty awful things about and wanted off the books asap. Well three goals in three games and suddenly he's not looking like a 5th choice winger anymore and it looks as though Hughes has him firmly in his plans. Another player probably justifiably written off is Kieron Dyer who looks as though he's playing some decent stuff pre-season so could he be looking at landing a spot in the 25? There is no doubt he can be class and is very talented, but can he really stay fit? The other thing to consider is how versatile he is as there can't be many players who can be comfortable at full back, wing or centre mid, which could prove valuable. Also Owen Hargreaves looks like he'll be getting a game shortly and I just cant believe we would have a player of his stature training and playing with us pre-season if it wasn't with a view to striking a deal. Personally I think he's a great player and if we could get 10-20 games out of him that would be a good bit of business. And what about our strikers? Cisse, Zamora and Johnson are definites but who else? With Heider now departed (boo) and DJ, Hulse and even Bothroyd looking towards the exit this must suggest Hughes has another lined up; Berbatov or Santa-Cruz perhaps? Really cant wait to find out what happens with this. N.b. I'm never sure whether to include Mackie as a striker or midfielder, all I know is I'm chuffed to bits he is staying. Just buzzing about the season ahead and can't wait to get started and get this board talking about QPR and football again. Cheers
We havent got more than 25 players when you exclude the ones we know are leaving. Even Hogan and Connolly will make the squad as it stands. Ill be quite laid back unless we sign someone huge (and I dont mean Parkin) for the next 2 weeks.
I think excluding the youth and the players we know not to be in Hughes plans we have 23 players. So 2 spots left at least to fill. Also, lets not overhype SWP too much yet - Ephraim for the last 2 pre-seasons has scored loads - then failed in the season. Hope SWP can contiune, but lets wait and see.
Yeah don't want to jinx the little chap but hopefully he can continue in this vein. Are you including Dyer and Hargreaves in the 23?

I can wait, can't really see what all the excitement is about. We've bought some ok players, but none we haven't seen before so we know what we're going to get. If MH pulls another Vincent kompany or Chris samba from out of nowhere plus an out and out goal scorer, then, and only then will I start to feel a little excitement.....
Strewth, you're cheerful! We've got Faurlin coming back, Junior Hoilett, the prospect of a rejuvenated Taarabt and SWP, plus a full season of Diakite and hopefully a more consistent goalie (who's also a full Ingerland international). And more besides.
I think one of the problems also is, none of the premiership teams have brought any wow players in yet this year. Some real world class performers, especially strikers to make me think "I can't wait to see them, this'll be amazing!!"
Just for the record..I have never bought into the SWP hype...ever.. Was ok at Man City for a while but got found out at top level. Waste of thime at "the bridge" and downhill from there. Personally he's seems a decent bloke, but just not for me. Obviously I'd be over the moon if he did perform this season, but I wont hold my breath. But, I,m excited about the rest of the team this year (yes even T!) Think we have a good mix and just a defender away from a decent team. Dont think we need another striker just yet. I think MH may get to Jan and re-asses where he may need some help..regardless of what he's said. Cant wait for the season to start...
