Well, countless evidence shows he's not yet been good enough to win a Grand Slam, you can't argue that
Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs..! A British tennis player has actually done something historic. Well done Andy. Bring on that lovely Chariots of Fire theme.
The US Open is looking like it will be some competition now. I can't pick between the four of them (although if Nadal's injury doesn't clear up, and he goes into it not fully fit, then that should affect things). Well done Murray.
At the moment it looks like its between Federer and Murray. Djokovic doesn't look as good as last year, and Nadal has picked up one of those worrying niggly injuries again.
I`m so proud of Andy I could burst. Doing that to Federer a month after losing at the same venue - unbelievable. Maybe some of the Murray bashers will get off his case now - you could see how much it meant to him to win that for GB. And he sang the national anthem. So Godders, a month ago, quote - `I hope the Scot loses` - unquote - now blow that out your ass !
The draw should be interesting. 50% chance that Federer and Murray will end up in the same half, and thus be scheduled to meet in the SFs. And whilst Novak is undoubtably not at he level he was at last year, he is still a great player. And having saved match points against Federer in each of the past two US Open semi-finals, he will have that slight mental edge should he come up against the great man again. I dislike Nadal. Always have done. However, for the sporting spectacle, I do hope that he is fully fit for it.
Andy Murray doesn't have a stupid haircut, tattoos and isn't poorly educated, and he's in the Olympics rather than being a football player. Godders loves him.
4 more Golds to beat the 2008 haul of 19. Can they do it..? Before the weekend, I didn't think they had a hope in hell, because of all the just misses, but now I think there's an excellent chance. There's another almost there in Women's 470 sailing. In fact, the Sailing team may do it all on their own. GB Sailing is almost as strong as GB Cycling.
We should, touchwood, do it with ease. I'm looking to see if we can maybe hit 25. That would be sensational, but well within our reach still. Hitting the athletics target of 8 medals may prove a stiffer target however, even after yesterday's wonder haul. Whilst we do have a string of potential medalists, I'm struggling to see any of them as being pretty much nailed on certainties (in particular, exactly how fit is Idowu? and will Farah still have enough left in the tank?)
No he doesn´t. He´s never won an Olympic gold medal. I think today was his last chance to win one too. He´s won pretty much everything else in tennis though.
