Watford XI vs Spurs Vicarage Road, 15:00 KO. Line ups... Watford Almunia; Doyley, Taylor, Nosworthy, Pudil, Eustace, Hogg, Buaben, Yeates, Garner, Murray Subs: Bond, Hodson, Dickinson, Bennett, Thompson, Forsyth, C Smith, Mingoia, Jenkins, Massey, Iwelumo Tottenham Hotspur Friedel, Naughton, Kaboul, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto, Jenas, Livermore, Carroll, Lennon, Bale, Defoe Subs: Cudicini, Bassong, Dawson, Vertonghen, Walker, Bentley, Huddlestone, Townsend, Sigurdsson, Kane
Only 2 of our new signings to feature today (Pudil & Almunia), the other have fittness issues/injuries.
The Hornets have lined up with Eustace operating in front of the back four, Hogg and Buaben slightly further forward and Yeates and Murray providing the wide options to lone frontman Garner.
Pudil down, looks like he might have a problem. He is being subed off, looks like a hamstring injury. Very bad news.
Reasonable chance for Watford as Garner sees shot from the edge of the area deflected behind but attractive, sharp build up involving Hogg, Doyley, Buaben and Yeates.
Watford make their second change, with Big Chris coming on for Garner two minutes after falling behind.
Forsyth coming on for Hogg - would have thought Hodson could come on too for Dickinson who's a bit slow, move Lloyd to the left to snuff out the Walker threat.
Standing ovation for Doyley as he's replaced by Lee Hodson after 75 minutes. Former Watford loanee Andros Townsend also on for Bale.
Good shot and a good save...Townsend hits a fizzing right-footed drive from 25 yards which Almunia is equal to, diving to his left to push it away. Piero Mingoia also on for Murray. Six minutes remaining.
A hopeful comment here: Good start to his Hornets career from Almunia today. Communication good, been decisive and handled well when needed to.
The WO did not seem to think that a lot happened, but maybe we need to hear from those at the ground as to how the new style of play is coming on.
