His first penalty was really poor but luckily sneaked in, as soon as I seen him stepping up to take the second I knew it wasn't going in, shockingly bad penalty. I think Sturridge has been terrible as well, apart from winning the second penalty all he has done is stand around waiting for the ball to hit his feet.

They were both the same. No power and nowhere near the corner. Generally a very worring half. We're lucky to be level.

Ramsey and Sturridge have both been poor, Sturridge must be a nightmare to play alongside, he never seems to do anything for the team, it's all about him.

Ramsey should of been off ages ago, he's been poor and now looks knackered.

I dont like to criticise players for failing in a shootout, but what was that cocky run up Sturridge? That now becomes the last kick for a "Great Britain" football player probably for decades you twat.

Inevitable we were going to lose one it went to penalties though. I can only recall one british penalty victory in history. Shame as i really thought we were on for a Bronze.

Great Britain struggled to get going in that game, Sturridge was poor and Ramsey was terrible, he should of been taken off early on instead of Sinclair, Butland was good overall but it was a pretty poor mistake for the first goal, Taylor also played well but had a few moments where he seemed to lose his cool, Cleverley played pretty well and he looks fit which is good news for United, Caulker also played well, I think he'll play a lot of football for Spurs this year and could really make a name for himself.

Pearce has gone on to say that after their performances at the Olympics Cleverley and Sturridge should be making the England squad regularly, they're ready to step up.

As a United fan I'm pretty biased towards Cleverley, but I feel he needs to become a regular starter for United first before he'll be ready for England. And Sturridge should be nowhere near the England team...

I agree, Cleverley needs to have a consistent season to prove exactly what level he is capable of playing at week in week out, I think he could become an England regular though. As for Sturridge, he clearly has some talent but he seems to suffer from "Bendtner" syndrome, he already thinks he's a world beater and everything should be about him. He never seems to do anything for the team, even his runs off the ball are almost all towards goal and often in front of another players run, closing off the space for them both.

Really lost interest in this with Britain out, but a pleasant suprise to see that Mexico won the final. Rafael the only player of ours to win a medal although perhaps costing his team gold.

For my money though the credit has to go to Cleverley, He played really all the way though. So long as he stays fit i see this a being the season he establishes himself.
