I hope Alonso has more than a couple of years left in the tank.

I'm not sure by these rumours but I have these whispers in my head that Alonso has made it clear he had no interest driving as long as Schumacher has done.

So after 2016 when he is 35-36 its going to be likely a 29 year old Seb will take the reigns. That or until Alonso wins the world title for the 3rd time and then retires then Seb comes in.

Ferrari, putting their resources into one driver, is a special thing they have going on. If one driver is all they need to win a championship, then let them get on with it.

Ferrari make it plain and clear they're a one driver team so if another driver goes there and expects equal treatment then they really are living in a fantasy land. Alonso at Ferrari is working so if Vettel, Button, whoever goes there it will be as a number 2 driver with no comebacks.

Yes, which refers to any driver in my opinion. Autosport said Ferrari haven't ruled out Hamilton for 2013, and there are several sources claiming Vettel has an agreement with them for 2014.

I doubt things would get out of control, all you need is proper driver management, something which Ron Dennis failed at. Luca won't tolerate a McLaren 2007 situation. I also think Alonso has matured a lot from 2007. Not sure about Vettel but he won't hang around for long if he pisses off the team.

Maybe it would be best for Felipe to stay with Ferrari but with Fisichella on their LeMans series campaign and then bring in another top driver to fill in the other seat and just try to win everything in F1.

Felipe could actually romp away in the leMans 24hr in a LMP1 car.

Andrew Benson on Button and Raikkonen to Ferrari:

He lists Button, Di Resta, Hulkenburg and Perez as contenders for next year, and lists Vettel and Kubica for 2014. Autosport list 10 drivers and two wildcard choices:

Although most of what they say is complete garbage (e.g Hulkenburg "might be a little too good to be a number two driver" <doh>)

Don't get the hype anymore with Di Resta, Hulk looks to have finally got to grips with the tyres now and is out qualifying and out racing him.

Hope Hulk shuts his trap now as Di Resta is a driver I'm quickly starting to dislike!

    An aside (slightly off-topic):
As a matter of interest, Silver; why? (I'm referring to the bold bit)

Agreed, Sutil also had tyre problems in 2011 but thrashed Di Resta once he sorted out those problems. But Di Resta will remain overrated in Britain, and when things go quiet, you can count on Di Resta to remind everyone that he beat Vettel in F3.

Closer to wearing a Ferrari top than rocket orange, by a mile!

I've never actually physically touched anything that is the making of McLaren.

He's only in F1 because he keeps milking that he beat Seb in F3 when they were younger. He forgets to mention that Seb nearly lost his hand that year with a slice of carbon fibre hit his hand and almost ended his racing career.

If Seb never won the world title he would of never been in F1 as nobody knew who the hell he was until everybody started to look up Sebs history.

Seb wins the world title: "Yeah but I beat him in F3."
Gets pounded by Sutil: "Yeah but I still beat Seb in F3."
Seb becomes youngest double WDC: "So what I still beat him in F3."

It's like if he stood in the same room with you, you would hope you have a poison tablet at hand!

Di Resta: "I beat Vettel in F3."
    Me: "Yeah? What else..."
Di Resta: "I won the DTM series."
    Me: "and?..."
Di Resta: "I beat Vettel in F3."
    Me: *Groans*

His whole career rests on Seb doing well, the guy is just a parasite leeching of another mans success!

I read it was once a close thought of Seb joining McLaren by Whitmarsh if I remember right...

    Still wouldn't wear it though!
