Just got back from 2 weeks in the US and while I was there i took in DC UTD v Paris St Germain.Anyway when a team conceded a free kick around the box the ref took out a small can of aerosol, marked the pitch with a small dot for the ball, walked 10 yards and then marked out a 5ft line for the wall.As soon as one of the players stepped over the line it was a booking.Bloody genius and i would love to see that over here. What do you think? ps.Anyone interested the score was 1-1 and PSG will be a team to look out for in the Champions league.
Do they have "bookings" in the US? We're much more into the yellow and red cards here in Europe, "bookings" are so passe...
Perhaps some scantily clad cheerleaders could rush on and dance at the two spots...that'd get my vote. In all seriousness, that's going a bit far isn't it?
I dont think so,we all know how teams cheat when a wall is formed and this would stop it dead. Also the spray disappeared after a few mins.
a bit O/T, but are you watching Team GB v Korea? what a load of ****e! Roll on the football season proper!!
I'm bored already...Mrs Welly just described the match as Chinese water-torture... It's Sons Of Anarchy downloads for the rest of the night for us...
IMO the day belonged to Phelps, who retired having won 18 Gold medals, that is 9 more than the nearest contender!!! 22 Olympic medals (18 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze) - Superhuman Effort especially the 8 Golds in Beijing 2008. 50, 100 years from now, the world will still be looking back on the greatest olympian ever. True end of an era, what an inspiration to us all!
There's a stat on the BBC that has Phelps above Argentina and Jamaica in the medal table since the 50's. That's very impressive.
