I wonder if UIR would stand by his comments if someone had insulted a Man Utd player in a similar fashion (i.e. an opposition player calling Evra a choc ice or Kagawa a twinkie).

Fact is both terms are racist, no matter what colour the person saying it is.

But it's not something you are adequately able to debate, having seen the comments on here <ok>

You're seemingly just calling it racist based on plain bias, without any historical precedence or indeed much consideration of the context.

When we debate the football we've watched, we see things for ourselves in context, form an opinion and put forward that opinion. You lot are just going on what other people have said, know nothing about the context and have already had your opinion formed by the club colours you support. I may as well stop watching the Toon and just post that we're the best team that has ever played the game...

Something the FA clearly stated they won't take into account during the Suarez case.

Freedom? You are kidding right... If these recent cases have proved anything, there's no such thing as "freedom of speech". That is something worthy of debate, if you are so democratically inclined.

But the problem with freedom of speech as a concept, is that there are so many idiots who are "just chatting", who are oblivious enough to intellect to be genuinely dangerous with expressive language.

??? Pardon? The context in that incident was the aggressive use of the term. There is/was no excuse for saying it wasn't racist, when he's referred to the colour of his skin so many times in a short space of time, along with the more noticeably derogatory terms. It's surely tiresome trying to argue his case here? If it went to court, he'd have been in a much worse position than Terry for defence... But obviously club lawyers tend to be top notch.

First of all saying "Why, black" is not aggressive, the FA were told this was the meaning in Suarez's dialect of Spanish but the FA had none of that and decided he clearly meant "because you are black". Second, we have no idea how many times Suarez said the word because Evra claimed ten, then eight, then seven. If Suarez's case had gone to court it wouldn't have made it past day one, as there was no video or audio evidence, only Evra's word vs Suarez's.

Of course they can. There are **** loads of black racists, but I'm talking about a certain definition of a certain phrase used.

I did not wish to cause offence, but to put things in perspective <ok> A chat can be fine, but there's no real need for everyone to get their blood up over the matter.

And Man Utd are fecked next season with the amount Chelsea have spent, Man City retaining their wonderful players, and their own financial decline... I'm sure there'll be copious laughs at their expense if they don't sort out their weaknesses soon <ok>

Personally I can't believe the aura on here isn't incredibly positive, considering you've got a young manager who's style is perfect for Europe, a brilliant young forward in Borini, and some brilliant youth prospects coming through...

Are you kidding me? They read the exact translation out on one of the news programmes... It doesn't really matter how bad Evra's heat of the moment memory is, the script is there and available. And I'm sure there was video evidence of some degree as well <ok>

Translation: They cherry-picked parts of the report which would generate as much interest to their outlet as possible and I decided to believe them without reading a single word from the report published by the FA.

Your opinion on the matter mean nothing if you are basing your opinion on the words of the media who twist every single story to make sure people choose them over the alternatives.

Instead of trying to justify comments which were racist, why does nobody really engage with an important issue in football... Sledging... Surely any form of winding-up involving "offensive terms", should be off-limits to everyone in the game, and indeed red-worthy? I'm sure Rooney got a ban for swearing in a camera, but if a ref overhears people swearing at each other he can't step in and send them off? That's just nonsense.

Why is anybody talking to that united rimlicker about racism (or anything serious for that matter). You only have to look at my signature to see that he does not have the slightest clue.

Every time I'm on here you're all complaining about something... Why does everyone hate us? Why is everyone obsessed with us? Bla bla bla...

I board(/bored) hop to see what the crack is... And the Liverpool crack varies between the best, and the most dire... If I was a Liverpool fan, I'd be absolutely delirious with it <ok>

    UIR - Utter moron.

You were one of the people calling for Suarez to be banned from football for saying "black" in Spanish, but it is acceptable for Rio to racially abuse others. Your only counter argument is that the phrase he used isn't racist, when it clearly is.

You are a ****ing clown, please crawl into a hole in the ground and never return.
