Looks a good idea. We definitely need to be in this as soon as possible. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...er-League-Under-21-competition-confirmed.html
If they're doing it instead of the reserves it's more like a copy of how the SPL do it (or at least did it for a few years, not sure if they've gone back to having reserves or not).
The PL Reserve league isn't too bad is it? (I don't know if we were ever invited into it, despite being PL they have standards to be met so other clubs are kept in even after relegation)
We did play in the PL reserve league and it was half decent, but once relegated we went back to playing **** teams in **** games with a youth squad.
What happens to the teams that didnt apply/gain entry like us? do we continue with the reserve league? Did our academy status stop us entering? Sooner we get in that the better
Personally, I think if ever we get ourselves into that, it will be about 100 years time when someones finally decides to build us a proper youth academy. At the minute we've got no hope theres millions better youth set ups around even in leagues below. What I'm suprised about is Forest and specially Leeds (who are supposed to have a well renowned youth set up) are not included in that.
