Dear Supporter, I want to say a sincere thank-you for making the effort to come to Gomel last night to support us in our first competitive match of the season. The players and I are fully aware of the trials and tribulations surrounding travel for games; in particular, the costs, the necessity for visas and the transportation issues involved with this trip, so we wanted to let you know that your efforts are greatly appreciated. It was a privilege to acknowledge your support on the evening at the ground, as we did following the full-time whistle, but I wanted to reiterate our thanks with this brief message. It was a special night for me personally and it was great to see you in the stadium and in great voice; you made me proud and you made the players proud. You are an integral part of this team. Both last night in Belarus and on the club's tour to North America, I am continually humbled by the passion and commitment you show in supporting the team. We will never take you for granted. I look forward to seeing and hearing you across the continent and at home as we progress through this competition. Thank you again. You'll Never Walk Alone Brendan please log in to view this image Nice touch or is he trying too hard to get everyone onside ?
I think it's a nice touch. If he starts sending them out all the time, then he'll be trying too hard.
I now expect a personal letter after every single match. It should be congratulating me on my fantastic support of the team, and enclose £100.00.
Gtf soft arse,Kenny was always approachable to Liverpool supporters and will continue to be. The man will always be a legend to us, his victories and successes as player&manager and his Hillsborough and local charity work will never be forgotten for the sake of one **** season.
To be honest this was probably drafted by someone in the PR department. 99% of the stuff the club releases with prefixes like 'for the fans' can be called 'PR bullshit'.
^^^^^ THIS While this is a tick in the plus column for Paddy, Kenny has ticks times infinity for everything he has done for this club.
I don't think so, this is another example of how articulate he is. I like the fact that he has given the owners a 180 page document outlining how he would like to rebuild LFC to bring back the glory days. This is a man with a plan who has set short and long term goals, which could prove valuable in terms of longevity, when you have a clear plan, short-term set backs can be seen as a small variance from your long-term goals. I like the fact that Rodgers is such a strategic thinker. it could all go tits up for him, or he will become a legend, can't really see much of a middle ground for him, he seems a bit of an all or nothing type character....
It seems as if Rodgers is doing the opposite of Dalglish, being very frugal with the cash and giving the youth a chance. I like the way he has gone about his work so far, but he will live or die by his results. Really hope we get of to a decent start, despite the horrendous opening fixtures.
I like the 180 page document thing... But (I know I'm being cynical) most of these press statements are just that - spin, bullshit, conciliatory gestures. If anything, the club know most travelling fans didn't pay to see us scrape a 1-0 win and are trying to appease them with a nice message.
Or this is just Rodgers trying to group together the fans and the players and management, make us a unit. Us against the world, a siege mentality where everyone feels part of it.
