I'm guessing that Sword's won't be coming back this time around.

Good job Brix - you gave everyone fair warning, let them hang themselves, and then put us out of our misery. Thanks boss :)

Now we can get back to doing what this board is supposed to be all about and that's talking about all things QPR and not having to witness people being taken apart. Respect Brix and Nuts.

I wouldn't worry about it. Let's not discuss it as that just rakes up old ground. Back to football and sensible chat and leave the mods to mod with our collective support.

QPR / aka Raving: much appreciate your OP / salutation but just had to edit to change the title to avoid it becoming the me show. Apologies.

I also apologise to all those who found the going on the other thread a bit rough, but it was necessary imho to identify who's who, what's what and mores to the point, what's wanted by the majority on here. I thank ALL of those of you who openly made your feelings clear enough to justify the actions I feel had to be taken.

Some of you may quietly feel I was a little slow on the uptake. Don't be afraid to tell me as much - cos on a personal level, I probably agree with you. Others, those duly modded out, will no doubt think I was far too hasty. Whatever. Can't please all of the people all of the time, can you? For my part, I admit to finding it difficult to chop regular posters. They are, after all, part of the furniture on here and things can look pretty bare without them. However, it's equally clear that a liberal approach creates a gateway to piss taking, particularly against the mod(s) concerned.

If I regret anything at all, it was the platitudes received from those in the frame. How patronising and misguided to think that bigging up Brix as top mod and all that, would effectively neutralise my duty to our fellow members in the need to apply the rules to keep things moderate on here. Couldn't let my personal outrage on reading that **** over recent weeks, come into the outcomes on anything but tbh can't stand being taken for a ****ing plum.

Anyways, what's done is done. Time now to move on.

Please, no more potentially controversial threads for the time being (I'll certainly be removing any sensitive threads, posts, posters that crop up). Let's for now debate around football all we like - but self-moderate (check posts before sending) and in so doing, maintain all due respect for one another.

    Imaz

He's a very intelligent guy and may have read through the thread begging him to return to the fold. I'm sure (or certainly hope) he'll have read between the lines and seen where most of us were coming from. Having said that, if it was me, it would take a lot more to convince me that this board is worth my time. There's also the embarrassment factor for him to contend with.

I've only found time to PM him once since he decided to down keyboard. I will be doing so again in a while, this time leaving him in no doubt that we've done what we can to tidy the living room.

If you really want him back, which I know you do from the many PMs to me on the subject, I strongly suggest you do the same. If we are lucky enough to get him back onside, please, let's afford him all the respect we'd like to receive ourselves. He, and we, deserve that much at the very least.

    Cheers

[Excuse me mate... I'm a Rangers fan. Which way to the football posts?]

have to agree with the OP, think you made the right decision in restoring the order on the board. Without going to details, there were some seriously disturbing things said on the thread by some posters.

Brix, no one can say you were hasty, nor did you wait too long. Swords is a clever customer, he twists things and tries to isolate posters on here. He would always try to be confrontational and would criticize anyone who said different.

There are some fan boys of his on here who will now hopefully be quiet.

Now let's get on with the purpose of this site and talk football.

It's exactly this attitude that is hypocritical in my opinion and I am no fan of anyone's apart from the team I support. You are just as bad as anyone else with your own rally cry. I respect your right to comment as I hope you respect mime to challenge your above statements.
Be brave enough to list the fans boys as you see them as you are making another damaging statement and maybe insulting everyone on here
Maybe the mods are fan boys who knows? we all have the same interface to this site so why make people now guess what the hell you mean please? ... I think that the statement is very confrontational as its seems to be aimed at everyone. I certainly feel strongly enough about to make comment. I think also the previous description used of respectful and disrespectful was also very short sighted and non intelligent

I love more than anything talking about our team however its exactly the attitude that should be erased

Good on you Brixton, you're doing a sterling job, one which has been made unfairly difficult for you of late. But something needed to be done, it was all getting out of hand.
Hopefully we can now put all of that behind us and get to what makes this board so special!

As you know, the concept of respectful and disrespectful was put by me to describe not just my view of the moronic way our board was being factionalised recently but mores to the point, to describe the line I am clearly expected to manage. Check back over the threads I've seen fit to close of late and assess for yourself the expressed will of the vast majority of regular posters on this board.

If you find that 'very short sighted and non intelligent' it's clear to me that you've never had to manage numbers of people fairly and transparently. You've left us in no doubt about your expertise in your profession as an art director - and whilst having spent a bit of time in graphic design and print, I have no problem bowing to your much greater experience and better judgement on such matters (i.e. banner image). I don't even bother to question your freedom of expression, let-it-flow approach to the arty-farty, despite the fact that I much prefer to see quality craft within artistic expression. Still far too many talentless nobodies winging it as 'artists' based on who they're shagging in return for a pretentious show in a private gallery. Got out of the game years ago for precisely that reason.

By the same token, my profession is people management at a senior level between MD and employees in a fairly large company. Not your bag obviously but guess what? People pay me pretty well to keep doing it and I'm more than comfortable in what I do. If I was the dickhead you make me out to be sometimes, I'd expect you to show equal respect and leave me to it.

But I have to accept that people on here enjoy your off the wall style and that you're just a hopelessly opinionated sausage who, like Swords, just has to comment on things way beyond your experience and/or understanding. You call it fun and I try to see it that way - but tbh honest, you're a bit like Taarabt. Obviously talented and a genius on your day but inevitably spend a lot of time flailing round on your arse.

    Just saying.
