Nelson - who else is there? I am assuming Flitney is injured and as for Forecast not heard much news about his ability at our level. Evans - I would like to see the lad return and be given another chance at RB, just felt it was a bit harsh that he was judged on the Hereford game. Essam - without a doubt, probably my first name on the team sheet. I hope he continues the same form as last season. Flanagan - we have sadly let King go, so this will be my first opportunity to see the new loan signing. Frampton - you all know why, so don't bother asking - lol - although would not mind seeing Carter being given a go if he is ready. Lee - I always see him as our feisty little leader, just hope MA has sorted out his discipline. Payne - surprised but pleased he is still with us. Needs to up his game though in the early part of the new season, this then will hopefully attract the bigger clubs in by Christmas and give Jack his long awaited chance. ps. sack your agent. Montrose - difficult one to decide between Lewis and Whelpdale. Once you see my starting front line, you will understand my choice. Jackman - another first name on the teamsheet and if you need an explanation, you really shouldn't be here! Birchall - crickey, at long last, I might actually get the chance to see this guy take to the Priestfield turf, other than warming up pre match. Miller - I am sure this one will be hotly disputed but I am hearing he is stronger, so in a friendly no harm done and to be honest I'm not sure I can bear the thought of an early season start to a warrior up front, no disrespect meant Keds. Oh nearly forgot about Strevens (sorry) - someone please tell me about him again?
Have to dispute two selections in the team but apart from that it seems pretty spot on. Montrose over Whelpdale? You've obviously been indulging in vast quantities of beer this morning I see. Whelpdale was a key player last season and no doubt will be so this year. Without him the midfield seems unbalanced with one on the left and then three in the middle without anyone playing on the right. Montrose is yet to truly convince me and wouldn't really get the nod to play above Payne in the centre with captain-to-be Lee (that rhymes and I meant it.) Also Miller can't play with Birch at a real level, both are too similar and lightweight to be a reasonable partnership against many defences in League 2. Kedwell and Birch is the partnership we have been waiting to see for a year now and I hope they are given a chance together today. People have been too negative about Kedwell recently and we need to get off his back and let him play. (Also looking at the KentOnline article on Hoadies thread it looks like Agyemang (spelling?) may be on trial today so I would tip him to start if he is in fact on trial)
Both Kedwell & Charlie Lee have lost a stone in weight so their fitness should be much better this season. Especially Keds, he may well be able to hit the form which he did for the Wombles so I wouldn't put him down too much just as yet. See him being in a straight fight with Strevens this season though.
I think now Keds has burnt off the weight he should be much better, also a bonus that Lee has done the same, I really hope Keds can do better this season as it would be brilliant for him and us.
