After going to the Macclesfield match in the league cup last year and Crawley in the FA cup, i've also got some doubts. Although it's football and there's sod all on that weekend.

But all it will take is one or two supposed marquee signings before a week tomorrow and we will all be there with 10k other disgruntled fans screeming at how **** Devitt is and how Bruce silver spoon swung the day for him

Am I the only one who quite likes Devitt. I think with a bit of work he's more of a prospect than most people think. He's good on the ball, his deliveries are decent and he works hard to always make himself available (unlike the rest of the wingers we are usually blessed with). Cooper, Townsend and Devitt would be my preferred 3 of the youngsters I've seen over recent years.
With the Rotherham game being a week before league kick-off so no real risk of tiredness, also many players have been injured so new players won't have had the opportunity to play with last years starting XI (e.g. the Fryatt-Proschwitz partnership) surely Bruce will be inclined to play the XI that he fancies for the Brighton game to see how they do. I think we'll win 3-0.

I also like Devitt, he is talented on the ball just can't tackle to save his life

I like Devitt too, if he could put some size on he'd be good in our league I reckon.

I like Devitt too, I just the bugger would learn to tackle and to head a ball.

I've been watching Devitt for about three years now and I've not seen him head the ball yet, though I confidently predict that we will win a header in the next five years.

Me neither, but a winger is probably the least likely outfield player to need to head a ball. When he first came into the side we used him as a target man, which was ridiculous.

I personally think his first header will be in the colours of Accrington or similar

I am also a winger and over last season I needed to head the ball about four times, and its not really my strong point. I like Devitt.
