If I was a decent footballer I could choose to play for England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales, my male descendency is Welsh though. When I go to my family's small village, on the edges of the brecon beacons, I'm pretty much related to everybody, fortunately the 2nd World war ended centuries of inbreeding. And yes, there are lots of sheep there.

In November, It could be 100° or it could be in the 50's... or it could be raging storms and Tornados... could be anything at that time of year. Roll the dice. :)

Bloody glad they didn't have it in summer as planned. It's been unbearable down here.

    Tornado coincidence:
Driving yesterday, our route aimed us towards a small storm cell with a large, almost black, funnel shaped underhang. I diverted through a leafy lane to gain high ground for a good view and after emerging from under the trees, we could see that this 'funnel' was no longer so low. Slightly disappointed, we got out of the car to look at the whole thing (it was not even raining where we were), just in time to see a small, light grey twister develop. It did not touch down but hung in suspension as if making up its mind. Moments later we noticed two more little twisters begin to decscend, one of which dipped below a low hill beneath and directly ahead of us! – It must have been very close to the ground, perhaps even reaching it.

More impressive than the twisters was to look at the whole system, which arced above and just a couple of miles ahead. It was like sitting under the edge of a spiral galaxy of thick, grey custard.

I've seen gigantic, huge-sky mega-storms in many places (especially Mexico, the Andes and north Africa), but this was a localised cell in littl' ol' England and we didn't even need a brolly!

I'm not a particular fan of the ole Tornado... Incredible to look at, but after having one rip through our neighborhood a few years ago, they now put the Ertha Kitt right up me.

So there was no real point of a sub forum then?

Bhaji's reference to tornadoes clearly illustrated his point about the Austin venue, which Kyle had mentioned earlier in the thread.

It was I who developed the off-topic discussion, which Bhaji then responded to with the comment you, EMSC, have quoted. Therefore I think it is probably my 'fault', if blame is indeed justified. This is why I began my post with the statement "Off Topic", and underlined it – as with this.

Such is the nature of conversation that occasional diversions are likely; but they need not necessarily detract from the discussion as a whole. I just thought it interesting that not only Austin but also Silverstone could get a tornado!

    :)

    I must agree
Bhaji: a very well-controlled race from lights to flag, closely followed by other top quality drivers who were good enough to avoid an early blunder (or several, as can especially be the case when karma is in pay-back mode).

Perhaps 'karma' might form a subject for discussion on a separate thread? Then again, it may have religious overtones to threaten the faithful…

Not being a WUM... I was merely bringing the topic back on track as you wished with a resounding slap on the back for a dominant performance by Mr. Hamilton.

Great drive all weekend, wouldn't you agree?
