Nice to anticipate a match again. Not expecting a great turnout, but hopefully another good performance from Saints and a good result to match would be good.

I'd expect a strong lineup from Wolves, with most of the names that took them down. Their squad wasn't bad and probably had the quality to scrape survival, but Terry Connor had the charisma and tactical nous of a grapefruit so they went down in 20th place with a whimper. Under new management and with a reputation for doing well in the Championship, they could provide a stern test.

    My Predicted Team:

    -----------------Davis------------------
    Clyne-----Fonte-----Hooiveld-----Fox
    ---------Morgan-----JWP--------------
    Guly----------Lallana-------Rodriguez
    ---------------Lambert-----------------

Prediction: Saints win 3-1, Rodriguez, Hooiveld, Sharp

I'm going so that's one spectator guaranteed. This could be very interesting...a promoted versus a relegated side. Hard to judge ourselves against a foreign side early in preseason, but this may give us a better idea of our standing.

So if we lost 6-0 you wouldn't be worried?

If I'm honest, I could hardly care less. Why are we playing so many friendlies at St Mary's this year? £15 to see a meaningless game against a side from a lower divison is scandalous.

Can't wait for the proper stuff to start.

I'm going with a mate, so that's another 2. Must say I quite enjoyed the Ajax game, quietly appreciating the technical and tactical work that's gone in over the summer. Hope Steven Davis is fit enough to get some time.

    http://www.wolves.co.uk//news/article/squads-named-for-friendlies-030812-290295.aspx Wolves OS

Aaron McCarey, Eggert Jonsson, Kevin Foley, Christophe Berra and Matt Doherty are also named in the squad to take on newly promoted Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium.

Several players are not being risked as a precaution including Dorus De Vries (groin), Steven Fletcher (ankle), Matt Jarvis (groin) and Jamie O’Hara (groin) but new signings Tongo Doumbia and Björn Sigurdarson are both in the squad.

Carl Ikeme also returns having missed the game at Shrewsbury with a slight knee injury. Kick off is 3pm.

SQUAD FOR SOUTHAMPTON: Ikeme, McCarey, Zubar, Johnson, Stearman, Ward, Davis, Doumbia, Henry, Forde, Doyle, Sigurdarson, Ebanks-Blake, Foley, Berra, Jonsson, Doherty.

Frightened me then. Read it as Southampton's squad and I thought that we were playing a bunch of unknowns.

A genuine, dyed in the wool, hard nut supporter, would move hell and high water to get to any competitive game in which a Saints Team are playing any kind of opposition, non of this namby pandy choosy stuff, that's for part time supporters and plastics.
