As much as I feel sorry for SSL I am relieved that it was not Wes Morgan - he is, IMHO, key to our 'progression' this coming season - and I think that he and Whitbread (assuming we don't get Chester - and no wumming intended) will be our first choice centre-back pairing ...
SSL injuries could determine the type of defender needed by Nigel. Should Ledge be out long term then we will need to get in a quality centre half to compete with Morgan and Whitbread. Should SSL be out short term then we could bring in someone learning the game like a loan from a prem side
Ah well if he wants to stay in the npower & play for a nobody team I guess that´s up to him. Maybe he´s found the standard he can play at & knows he ain´t prem quality.
I think he knows he's achieved all he can now, so it's just about playing as long as possible. He's on to a good thing at Hull; they're paying him well and he gets picked. At Leicester, as I wrote a few days about on this, I don't think he would be guaranteed a starting place. So I can understand his position. I'd be more disappointed if it was a young player with the potentially to play at a higher level.
We used to have this manager, Pearson was his name, he used to have a bloke called Robbie Koren first on his team sheet every week. Not once, when this Koren bloke was available, did he not start him. I'm sure now he's at Leicester, where there are far better options, he probably wouldn't get a look in. Alas, we shall never know.
Hard to ignore when every post is hijacked. Might as well go with the flow - I have no clue where Hull will be as I haven't seen you play under Bruce. Will you have a new formation or just adapt your current ones? As for us - top 6 is a minimum and hopefully we can get that although as we will have a lot of new faces in the squad, I again don't know until I've seen them play. The first quarter of the season will be very interesting for both of us.
That Fourth Official Nob, knows nowt. All he does is watch Sky and trawl other news feed then claims it as his own. The Koren story first broke on Football 365 this morning.
Is that right? What happened to the James Chester rumours he was spouting in the early part of the Summer, then?
It seems it's not quite done yet anyway... Philip Buckingham ‏@PJBuckingham Reports of Robert Koren signing new deal are premature. #hcafc optimistic but there's a middle ground still to be found.
Now or never for us then if Nigel wants him Either we have to make an offer that will blow his socks off or it wont happen, im not too fussed either way. I would like him here though
Chaaaaarlie? Chaaaaaarlie? Here Charlie Charlie. There's a good boy now, back to our own board. It's medicine time
We should be doing better than Koren. He's decent. But he has probably a season of being decent. Not worth it IMO. Especially when we have Marshall and King who are better.
