If Imaz chooses to imprison his mind in that stupid religion, he leaves himself open to ridicule.

He's deliberately turning innocuous jokes into 'bait' just so people will turn down the heat and he gets beneficial treatment from Brixton's own version of Atticus Finch. Very subtly playing the race card.

If he's gonna be like that, I won't lose sleep over him not being a part of a supposedly reason-based discussion forum any more.

If that's your worldly view and tolerance level then I think your outlook is severely restricted.

We've had a fill of these conversations and you chipping in at the end with a mindless post has added nothing except irritation.

 

My view that unreasonable people shouldn't be taken seriously in reasonable fora has never restricted me. It's benefited me.

I don't think you've made any point except alienating yourself from anyone who embraces religion. In fact, you basically said that anyone that disagrees with you is open to ridicule.

I choose atheism but won't condemn other people for their beliefs. I enjoy life's rich tapestry and all the people and views that make it so interesting. I could draw an exception in your case due to your arrogant, hollow pseudo intellectualism.

And you saying your posts are valid and insightful doesn't make them so.

My wider point was that he was imagineering this witch hunt against him which doesn't exist to my knowledge. As Swords has pointed out, there were no jibes to belittle his ethnicity. Even when there is banter of that nature, I think it takes a bigger man to stick it out, give some back and break down barriers than take the easy option and storm off in a sympathy-engendering huff.

Whereas I want a world where everyone wears grey hessian onesies with their social security number stencilled on, speaks Esperanto, has two kids and moves to annihilate all minority races, sexualities and religions.

So screw your rich tapestry.

I reared up on Jerel once before because I thought he was a rabid Loyalist when he was slagging off Celtic and their fans (not that I'm overly fond of them by the way) but the guy is as genuine as they come. He's just forthright with his opinions and I of all people couldn't condemn the man for that.

A couple of his football-related discussions with Nines deep into the night have been among the best I've seen on here.

In fact, I think yourself and Uber had a similar conversation to this one on the other Imaz thread but you stopped short of calling him a narrow minded cretin!

I apologise Jerel for my overreaction. Perhaps I should have just said it was ill timed (the dust has just about settled and we've lost a very knowledgeable poster in the process).

Fact is, Imaz rarely stated any personal beliefs so never actually had those questioned but he did experience a level of persecution that was based on belonging to a minority and also for making political observation.

This thread isn't representative of that (most such ones have been shut down or removed) and so the full picture might not be apparent.

The fact that a 16 year old can so effectively highlight the cabin fever on here by putting us all to shame might provide a better insight.

I didn't see the majority of Imaz's perceived persecution, but the straw that seems to have broken the camel's back (<< NOT A RACIAL JOKE, PLEASE DON'T KILL ME) was a pretty flimsy one indeed. And the thrust of his post was that QPR having religious (Muslim) players is a great thing, putting his little cute 'mashallah' thingy.

And sorry, youngone, but we are not 'ALL QPR'. And I can guarantee you I'd have had to be a very sexually mature toddler to be your father.
