I'm 70 & saw my first match in 1947, aged 5, with my dear old Dad. He paid an extra 6d to enter the enclosure where he would lift me over the little white fence to sit on a bench with a first aid man & a policeman! I sat enthralled listening to the band & a lady trumpet soloist. No one ever queried my being there. I loved all of it & remember us winning the 2nd division in 1950 & division one in 1951 when Bill Nic was a player. I also remember Bills first match as manager when we beat Everton 10 - 4.
During the glorious 'double days' I saw every home game & all but two away games. The night we won the league (I was 19 by then) was the only time I ever ran onto the pitch, with hundreds of others & the players came into the directors box. The sheer joy of that evening, well how could anyone forget! Then, 3 weeks later Wembley & the CUP! My Dad was crying with joy. He had waited 40 years. He was 15 in 1921 when they last won it. The celebrations down Tottenham High Rd that night were something else!
Another great memory is going to Rotterdam for the Cup Winners Cup Final. We met at the ground for the coach to Gatwick. I had not flown before and have never forgotten the wonder of seeing England from the air for the first time. A patchwork quilt of prettiness. We had a lovely day in Holland and a fabulous evening with our thrashing of Atletico Madrid.
I can't remember what I had for dinner yesterday but all my wonderful Spurs memories are crystal clear still. I have many, many more. Spurs are in my soul and will be till the day
    I die.

I prefer to retain my air of mystery and enigmatic sexiness, YV.

The laugh was at how comparatively young our manager is, though.
If the same statement were true under Redknapp, then we'd have a board full of pensioners.
Nothing wrong with that, of course, but a bit of a change.

That's fascinating. Other than 61 what are your other great memories in football? Obviously 66 must have been up there. Always great to have older fans comment
